what do you think about this system setup im looking at for my girl's car?
kenwood excelon kdc-x990 headunit 22rmsx4 5v preout
infinity kappa 693.7i 6x9 in the rear 110rms 2ohm
infinity kappa 6.5" in the front 90rms 2ohm
mtx ta3404 4ch amp 100rmsx4 @2ohm
still not sure what subs im debating between something hard hitting like the mtx 9512 or something cleaner like polk audio, has any1 heard the sr series??
sub amp will prolly match the 4ch amp, mono class d.
100sq ft pack of fatmat for the whole car should have extra that i will use on something else.
trying to stay in a $3000 budget. still have to pick subs and total everything, if its in the pricerange i may get kickpanel's and put the 6.5's there and get the 50.7 kappa's for the doors and run them off the headunit. that would take it to 10 speakers (counting tweeters) and 1 or 2 subs depending what i go with. anything anybody would change or anything?
already plan on using sparky's guide for the gain settings lol
slos forgot to add im upgrading the alternator to a 150-200amp. that isnt part of the $3000 budget though, shes getting new brakes, tires, etc. and the alt is in that pricing
i hate and will not go with kicker. yea the square hits harder but the sound quality is so much better from a round

Looks good.... I wouldn't ruin a good sounding system by using the MTX 9500 tho... Id go with the polks if that is your other choice....
To set your gains correctly use a DMM... its the best way to do it.
Good Luck

in my opinion change the hole lot and go for alpine gear the 6x9s are too low a power rating they will blow in a week the infinity range is no use its just expensive the 17 cm in the front doors are ok for the high pitch but not much bass the subs if you have any probs with the amp get a built in amp and sub takes up less room in the boot and you still get a massive kick

Great head unit.
Given the choice I would go with Polk, but I'm a huge Rockford Fosgate fan.
With 400 watts of power going to mids and highs I would do 2 T1's.

I would go with some kicker L7 12 inch for the subs. Im kind of a biased when it comes to opinions because i have 4 of them in my car but they hit very hard and they sound great

anyways that is just about enough to rock the block!!!
seems just right but be careful with the amp because you can burn the amp with those 5 v pre outputs (basically set the gain right or you will fry it)
