men recieving child support?

1st of all, the people at the child support office are sexists, not racist, that's a whole different thing...2nd, yes, hire a lawyer...I have custody of y daughter & theoretically recieve support....theoretically, because my ex is no consistant. Even wih my lawyer though, it's up to the office to enforce report when the law is broken, if they chose not to, without a lawyer, not much you can do. Even judges go much easier on women who don't pay support, than hey do on men. Call your congressman & state senator, without strongers laws, there's not much that can be done....I'm in Florida, and my ex is well over $4000 eind. As long as she shows that she is making an effort, she stays free.

Sorry to be the one to inform you that single moms go threw the same thing. It aint nothing different than what you experience. Except that you found your partner. Most dads arent found and if they are they arent forced to pay. THey go threw life oweing but not paying.

It is always good to get a lawyer if you want the job done, but I am told that if you want the money pronto then go to an agency that deals with that specifically otherwise you may never see the money or be waiting on a list with many others.

Why haven't you hired a lawyer before now? If I were you I would go after her the same way they go after men for non payment of child support...your children are entitled to support...doesn't matter WHICH parent has custody.

Men are not a race, so no one is being ‘racist’ toward you, although they may be discriminating against you on the basis of gender (and I know that’s what you really meant, but, still I had to say it :). However, I think what you’re experiencing is (sadly) common…rather the custodial parent is female or male.

I deal with child support issues in another state. They cannot make the parent work! male or female! A deadbeat parent is a deadbeat parent. remember, they look at it if the parent is in jail they cannot work!

Now, I think they should have her at minmum wage unless she is a full time student or disabled. You may want to check to be sure she is imputed.

Every state is different though, so i may be wrong!

people at the child support office do seem kind of angry.i think because we have to make them work harder. i dont gtet it. I think if yo uget a lawyer nothing will come out of it. i mean you are doing all you can. yes she needs to pay support but i say yo udo what the lawyer will do, he will call the child support pffice. you can do that. it is hard to get a parent to pay support when yo ufind out how to do it let me know. my sons dad owes thousands and it seems like they wont do anythign to him.

Ask yourself what good would it do if your ex-wife files for bankruptcy or in jail too often and out of job. Can't you find yourself a job and be self-sufficient?
