Independent Study Project ideas - something good from something bad?
My 12 year old son needs some ideas for his ISP. It is supposed to be about something good that came from something bad. My examples: MADD came from the tragedy of drunk driving, Amber Alerts came from a tragic abduction etc. They don't have to be like my examples, just follow the basic formula - it has to be about something good that came from something bad. How about the atomic bomb or any other technology to advance the war later being used to help society. Reader's Digest had an article on all the advancements in the military that will be or have been made available to the public. For example, a bandage that helps clot blood has been developed for soldiers. It has helped prevent deaths from blood loss in war, but will help in car accident victims, etc.
