How do you tell your parents you are dating an older man?

I am 19. I met this guy who is 33.  We have been together going on 9 months and I just really want to tell my parents because if I don't, I know the relationship is going to go nowhere.  He moved here from NY and wants to move back but wants to be here with me so he decided to stay.  He has already told his family and they are okay with it.  How do I break it to them?  How do I even bring it up?  My parents are really overprotective and dating isn't exactly something we talk about.  I've tried talking to my sister but she is against our realationship.  But I know this is the person I really want to be with.  Plus, are relationship is being affected by me not telling my family.  Anyone have any advice please?

YOu should explain to your parents you have a great boyfriend and you should tell them all about how great he is then sort of slip it in about his age. If they have a problem tell them hey I've been with him for 9 months and were happy This is why I waited so long to tell you. I want you to be supportive but regardless of that we are going to be together so I guess you guys will have to get used to it.

i dont thin k you parents are going to be as mad as you think. try talking to your mom first ask her what she thinks about older guys and younger woman...ive been married for 11 yrs now to a guy that is 12 yrs older than me i thought my parents would be mad to but she wasnt. she understood that age has no limits with it comes to relationship...now if you where say 14 and he was33 then.....

Your 19, who you date is your business. They either accept it or they don't. I would just tell them you like older men. They should want you to be happy. Just be careful, okay?
