Well I don't know if you'll dig this since you're a guy, but here goes. I'm from Texas and recently governor Rick Perry is trying to make it mandatory for all girls between the ages of 11 and 12 to get vaccinated with the HPV vaccination which stands for the Human Papillomavirus which causes cervical cancer in women by the 2008 school year. This is as a current event and also controversial because Texas is such a conservative state and we are big on abstinence programs in schools. HPV can only be acquired through sexual contact so essentially what is angering so many people is that in a way this would be encouraging youn girls to have sex. Many parents are outraged and Pfizer, the maker of the vaccine has recently stopped their lobbying campaign due to the outcries and protests of people all over the state of Texas.
