What's Your idea to fix the Ozone Layer Hole?
Amazing how our global world leaders all pay NO concern or attention to the ever growing Ozone Layer Hole, something I strongly feel is causing our noticably strange weather patterns.
To my knowlege, science has not found a way to manufacture Ozone and it's not known if ANY work to repair the Ozone Hole is even on the drawing board. So.....what's YOUR idea on solving this looming problem???

There is no need to worry about this one--other than to watch the politicians to make sure they don't do something stupid.
The reason is that the cause of the problem of ozone depletion has already been taken care of--by banning the use of CFCs--it is these chemicals that created the ozone depletion.
However, although the ozone layer is beginning to recover (that was confirmed last year) it will take some time for the remaining CFCs in the atmosphere to break down. So, as long as we don't start adding more, the ozone layer will repair itself in a few years.
BTW--the ozonedoes not affect weather patterns--it just allows excess ultraviolet light to reach the Earth's surface. Carried too far, this would have caused massive increases in rates of skin cancer. We do have the problem (potentially far wors) of CO2 emmissions creating global warming-but that's an entirely different phenomenon.

Wow I am glad nobody on here knows science. #1 your science teacher doesn't know what he is talking about. Yes other gases filter other wavelengths, but ozone filters some very high energy wavelengths in the UV that let me assure you you don't want to be hit by. It's not such an issue in the Northern hemisphere since the hole is so far away, in Antarctica. #2 The ozone destruction is caused by CFCs. There is no debating it. The science is well founded and even a non-scientist could understand it. The proposed mechanisms and balance of chemical species in the Antarctic atmosphere explains well the. So, these CFCs catalyze the destruction of ozone. While there would be some it speeds it up at an enormous rate. There are a lot of other unique polar conditions that contribute but for human influence it is CFCs. The good news is these have been banned. And it is a retarted argument that the politicians wanted this . . . it actually upset many people and it ends up costing a lot more. Sounds like a plan to me? With the banning slowly the ozone hole will fix but the species in the atmosphere will take hundreds of years to fully disappear. #3 Additionally the dark and cold temperatures give a situation in which ozone is preserved naturally. Because as you said though it is a cycle the "normal" ozone destruction step in this cycling is also be light. So sorry your theory of the Dark causing it are out. Along with a much larger list of scientific evidence that I am considering you have not read. I will concede there may be some depression but not on this scale. #4 Interesting note is that the ozone hole forms every spring and then disappears fully every year, a lot of people don't realise. Bottom line is that it has been getting smaller, but year to year is a question mark.

I doubt it needs to be fixed. The skies above Antarctica (where the hole in the ozone is) represent a very hostile environment for ozone. The animals that live in Antarctica have been found to have a high UV radiation tolerance, lending evidence to the theory that ozone levels have always been low above Antarctica. With the widespread ban on CFCs and continued vigilance, the problems in the ozone layer can be considered fixed.

actually the ozone hole isn't "every growing" any more. that crisis is yesterday's story.
regarding "science has not found a way to manufacture Ozone", I'm assuming you mean the ozone high up in the atmosphere. Ozone is naturally created there, and the problem was that rate at which it was being created was not as high as the rate at which it was being depleted.
We do "manufacture" ozone at ground level - check the LA weather report in summer - and it's bad.

Keep doing what we're doing. The ozone hole has already begun to shrink from reduced use of aerosols and fluorocarbons.

stop using fossil fuels for transportation, and start using more magnetic propulsion....think i spelled that right......
