What should a parent teach their child before Kindrgarten in Canada?
My kids are going to be in kindergarten within a couple of years and I was wondering what they need to know before they enter to be at the same level as their classmates! Thanks!

The most important thing for a child in kindergarten is social skills. Once they have the concept of sharing, being kind, listening and not talking when someone else is, then you can work on the academics like letters, numbers and reading. Most kids starting kindergarten can't read, but should know how to read and print their own name. Knowing the alphabet and recognizing the letters and the sounds they make will give your child a head start.
Don't stress out about this too much. ALL kids in kindergarten and grade 1 are at different levels. They will level out eventually!

they need to learn some basic stuff like how to put on and take off their coats, gloves and shoes. and how to interract with other children their age. Teaching them some nursery rhymes wouldn't hurt either...
Good luck eh?
