Enlighten me!!!?

Hello F1 Lovers. I'm a novice & started watching F1 only last season. If you were to choose between Alonso & Schumacher whom would you choose? Schumi has such an impressive record so why is it that many people dislike him? Can you help me understand?

He has an impressive record, but stuff that he and his teams did over the years are way too big to be looked over.

The entire 1994 season: Benneton runs illegal software, launch control+traction control. No action.

Adelaide 1994, the last race: Schumacher cracks under pressure from Hill on lap 34, hits a wall, apparently damaging his own car, then bounces on track, Hill goes for the inside line and Schumacher turns in on the Brit, hitting the Willams and damaging the left front suspension beyond repair. Schumacher goes into a tire wall and Hill limps to the pits to retire. The German wins the title by one point, because no complaint is lodged on the incident.

Spa 1995, all race long: The same men, MS and Hill, battle each other; Schumacher holds off Hill to win, but the maneuvers are judged to be too dangerous. No penalty is given, but the "one-move" rule is introduced.

Jerez 1997. Lap 48. Schumacher is chased by Villeneuve, who dives on the inside to try and snatch the lead at the Dry Sac hairpin; MS turns in on Villeneuve, but misjudges the maneuver like an amateur, locks up and slides into the gravel trap. Villeneuve keeps going to finish 3rd and claiming the championship. Schumacher is disqualified from the championship, but preserving his points tally. Too lenient punishment.

Team orders, Austria 2002. Barrichello is forced to give way in front of MS on the finish line to give 4 points to the German. 4 useless points, because the season was utterly dominated by the red team.

And finally, Monaco 2006. No comments.

There are so many other cases of unsporting and dangerous maneuvers, I won't waste space describing them. The July issue of F1 Racing described 22 of them, over 11 years.

That's why I'm firmly choosing Alonso.
