NASCAR is not consistant with their penalties. The major teams(Hendricks,Roush,Yates,Childress) get their wrist slapped on told their bad boys, but the monor teams does the same thing the lose points and get fined and don't get their chance to redeam.

If there is an infraction for any team treat them the same.

Hi, I don't know if I would call the penalties a joke, but I would say they are unfair. It all boils down to MONEY. The penalties are small, if indeed they are even given, for the drivers with the most fan appeal. Those that are just starting out or are not a member of a large, well known owner are given stiff penalties. It is very frustrating and irritating to me.

They sure are a joke! There are several sets of rules depending on who Nascar is dealing with. And there is no consistency!

Well id have to say yes.Sometimes they have a hard on for certain guys and dish out penalties that dont match the violation. Then youll have guys blatently violate rules and get nothing. Its just like the rest of the world. Its not who you know but who you blow.

Some of them are not a joke, but certainly they are not clear enough. Some of them are a joke.

For instance, Robby Gordon throws a piece of bodywork out from his car and gets penalized for "actions detrimental to stock car racing".

A crew chief puts in a piece of engine larger than permitted and gets penalised for "actions detrimental to stock car racing".

Scott Riggs' crewmember pushes Kevin Harvick's wife to the ground and gets penalised for guess what?? Right!! "Actions detrimental to stock car racing".

But hey! if you wreck a driver on purpose and put him out of the race, they allow you to keep racing..hahaha

(I wonder if that ARCA driver who jumped feet first into another competitor's car also got a penalty for "actions detrimental to stock car racing" LOL)

yes, I depends on who you are on if a penalty will be issued or how strick NASCAR will be.

they do seem unfair sometimes but they try to make then as fair as they can. But they do seem odd some times

think they need to stronger. i if wrack somebody on purpose you should not be able to keep racing and have to sit out the next race.

I thinks it depends in the driver, team, and organization. as well as last name and sponsors...
