Not knowing what price range you are looking at, I can suggest a few at different price points...
Silverline Audio Prelude: a class leader when it comes to overall sound quality. Bass is deep and quick belying their small footprint. This is truly a high-end value leader IMHO.
Athena Technologies AS-F2.2: great sound and one of the best at its price point.
BIC Acoustech HT-75: incredible sensitivity, providing dynamics as well as overall performance that not even a similarly priced Klipsch model cannot approach.

Check out Klipsch, Definitive Technology and Paradigm for great sounding average priced ($1,000-2,000 speakers). There are much higher priced speakers available but all three are great sounding speakers.
No highs, no lows...it has to be Bose. That's the industry saying on Bose speakers. They're speakers are also made of un-reinforced paper which will degrade with time.

Get a pair of JBLs. They come in several models so you can choose what your wallet will allow. You can't go wrong with JBLs for home stereo or theatre. You go into a recording studio and more often than not will find JBLs.

I dont know how much you want to spend but the Mirage OMNISAT v2 FS (about $500) are great speakers. They are also very sleek looking. here is the site: http://www.miragespeakers.com/v2/product_page.php?...

Bose----- crisp. clear, lifelike sound. Go to one of their stores and have a listen. We have the surround sound Bose system and it is such a great experience !
