Best way to read/modify the same documents between PC and notebook?

Both are running XP. I could use Windows file sharing and put all the docs to be shared on the notebook. This way they're available when I travel, and available when I'm home and the two computers are networked. But is this the most elegant and efficient solution? What about file syncing software?

That is a simple and effective way to do it. Plus cheap, you don't have to buy anything. You are always working with the same copy of the file from either machine.

Another solution I use, since one computer is at home and the other at work so I can not network them, it a USB flash drive. I keep a handful of files that I work on with both computers on the flash drive and just move it between PCs as needed.

But whichever you use, hopefully you are remembering to keep the file backed up on the other computer also just in case. Right??!!
