Get off your 60's liberal soapbox. We have had an All volunteer force since 1973 so your statement holds no water. There are people from all walks of life in the Military. Ross Perots son was in the Air National Guard during the 80's, and there is nothing poor about that young man.

I am sick of war and blood shed. I don't know if the "average guy" will figure it out, however, it is not an only man's creation. There are women soldiers, women fighter pilots, and women naval officers. There are people out there in the world that know fighting is not the answer. Gandhi of India knew that violence would only beget more violence and he strove to give India Independence through non-violent resistance. I hope that there will be others like him and that it will this time work.

Why call it poor man's blood. Those who serve in the military do so because of their belief of giving back to the country what it has given them. Only way to explain it is to actually serve, those who haven't served in military don't understand.

I don't knock those who haven't served in the military but thank those of us that have. We serve to preserve the Constitution and Freedoms others in this country take for granted.

Last I heard there was an all VOLUNTEER army. If you don't want to be in Iraq, don't enlist.
