should my period stop if i just started the pill?

I don't know how Alesse brand pills work, but I thought that you were supposed to begin the pill pack the first Sunday AFTER your period starts. So if you had started your period on a Sunday, I'm pretty sure you should've started the pills the next Sunday. Either way, it takes a little while for your body to really adjust to the pills (about 7 days before it provides birth control protection and potentially a couple of months until your cycle is regulated), so I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. But if you are worried or have any questions, call your doctor and they'll be happy to answer any questions you might have.

When you first start your pills yes there is a time period for the hormone level to enter and level out to essentially get your period on a regular pattern..no still having bleeding and being on the pill especially with your first pack is normal...you may even get some breakthrough bleeding with you second pack..if you still are having problems down the road then talk with your doctor and you may have to have your pills changed.

birth control pill do different numbers on your body, so I think you just got to learn to expect the unexpected. your doc is the one to be asking, he knows the details on the specific pill you are taking but it's not unheard of for your period to either stop or get a little heavier or just be irregular. You know when your body is doing something strange, so if your unsure it don't hurt to ask your physician.

It will take your body a while to get used to the hormones in the pill and for your cycle to change. It doesn't work immediately, and may take months for your cycle to get used to it. If you're really concerned, talk to your doctor.
