Why is every topic reduced to a discuss about race?

I think black people talk about race too much (everything is not about race) and that white people don't talk enough about race (pretending a problem does not exist, doesn't mean it will go away)

For many African-Americans, race is the largest part of their identity. It is something which people notice immediately upon looking at them. Clearly the way our society is set up, people who are not white face many more challenges than those who are. For this reason, people who are black tend to focus on race as a key point to their identity. Similarly people who are Hispanic, Asian, Native American, or racially mixed tend to focus on this. White people don't notice the issue of race as much because our culture is set up to give invisible privileges to white people. (It's true, I learned about it in Human Relations 497.) White people can drive most anywhere without fear of being pulled over by cops, can walk through the CD section at Walmart without being scrutinized by employees, and so on. A majority of our history is taught from the perspective of the white European. To white people, race is not a big issue because it seems, to them, that being white is "normal" (just like being straight is "normal" to straight people).

I've been answering for awhile now and hadn't noticed any more or less answers about race than about politics, sexual activity or the need to name a baby - so maybe you're timing for being on has just been poor. Or, your thoughts are leading you to racial ideations of your own that you project onto the answers and then see others answers in those overtones. Race is a problem, drugs are a problem, a lack of respect is a problem, a lack of sexual purity is a problem, a lack of belief in Jesus Christ is a problem. That's why there are forums that allow us to ask and answer qeustions of this nature. You have a good question - even if some answers prior to mine do not agree.

As a caucasion I think everyone talks about race too much, I think if in general if everyone stops talking alot racial discrimination & such we may be able to look at each other as being the same - no color. this is probly just a dream, however blacks talk about slavery and you hear no asian talking about being put into concerntration camps in this country during WWII, which they were.

Almost every issue boils down to skin color because of ignorant fools like you. Who gives a damn about someone's skin tone? There are soo many more important things to worry about in life.

But yeah, I really don't like those green people; They are always making comments about race ;)
