what am i missing here?

i have received a few "best answers". how come some are given 10 points with "best answer" written in red, while others dont say or give anything when they are picked as best? am i missing something?

    Unfortunately, this is due to a glitch in the system. The red "best answer" note in the questions listing wasn't added until recently and hasn't been completely smoothed out yet, but the Yahoo! Answers team is working on it.

    The person asking the Q will award you 10pts for giving a great answer. If your answer wasn't good enough you won't recieve points, sorry.
