Can anyone have some advice that would help demonstrate the concept of Ideals.?
I am working on a christian retreat and having serious trouble figuring out how to explain this concept of Ideals. I have to talk to the youth that will be attending the retreat in a month, and any help will be much appreciated. Please realize that this is a Christian retreat and but my discussion can not talk about Christ, thats for another persons discussion, but because similar retreats are found around the US I do not wish to give out to much information as to what it is.
I have been praying about it, and anyothers could pray for me that my words are those that God wants me to say I will be greatly appreciative.
And for all intensive purposes Ideals is another word for Goals, and yes I know I cant type this evening, I do apologize
To answer Devin's question yes, it is a sin.
"Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body." (1 Corinthians 6:18-20)

Alright... Ideals...
I'm studying politics and journalism, an ideal in the US political system would be 100% of a well-informed poulace actively participating justly in the system, and my ideal as a future Journalist would to be to enable my country to move closer to such an ideal in an ethical fashion
I will never be able to attain the ideal, but I will NEVER compromise my comitment to social and Christian ethics
I've worked with young women in the church and I find there is the ideal of beauty, thin, big eyes, perfect smile, and the whole world is chasing after this completely (usually) unattainable goal-- the question is what you are willing to do for it
One more. Our ideal as humans is to be intelligent, informed, ethical, and feel fulfillment and connection with the higher order of the universe-- this is what all humans seek, whether through attaining wealth, education power, prestige and physical excellence, or through piety, service and striving for integrety (all can be, and for some are idols)
There's a dichotomy between the ideal, and the ability to obtain the ideal, the question becomes, where does it stand in your life and what is your mesuring stick

'answer' the subject is, in case you declare the universe is evidence for a 'author', how do you recognize it truly is the Christian god and not another god? Hindus have self belief Brahma created the universe, so how does this teach Christianity rather of Hinduism? As on your question, not one unmarried word of the hot testomony grow to be written by absolutely everyone who truly met Jesus while he grow to be believed to be alive. it is all you may properly known with regard to the accuracy of the NT.
