Why is metal considered "frozen" if it's room temperature?

Because it's not at freezing temperatures, so why call it frozen?

Geologically, why is the middle east so rich in oil?

    Favorite Answer:

The region was a shallow sea (Tethys Sea) in a reasonably warm climate zone back a couple hundred million years ago or thereaouts, so there was a lot of plant life and algae that got buried, eventually turning into oil. Kind of the same reason that Texas has lots of oil (or had before it got taken out).

Everywhere that has oil, has that oil in sediments formed in relatively warm shallow seas at some past time within the past several hundred million years ago.

Why does the Southern United States have alot of woody areas even in urban cities?

    Favorite Answer:

The southeastern part of the states gets moisture from the Gulf of Mexico from wind currents that carry it north across the states. The rest of the country depends on air currents from the Atlantic and Pacific oceans for their rainfalls. I live in North East Texas with lots of wooded areas and 90% of our winds come from the south and off the Gulf. We get app. 50 inches of rain every year. The farther west of here it gradually gets dryer until you get to West Texas away from the gulf area and there the average rain fall is 9 inches per year.

In reality, there are more trees in the U.S. today then when the pilgrims came over because of re-planting and forest management.

How come ocean water is not contaminated with blood and poop of aquatic creatures? ?

    Favorite Answer:

There is poop and blood in the ocean. But that’s like putting a drop of blood in a swimming pool. It’s such a small amount compared to the water that it makes no difference. The salt kind of kills all the bacteria anyway.

How are they going to do this again?

I have ZERO allegiance to this country now. I don't care what happens to it. I'm waiting for another disaster....fires, storms, landslides, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, red tides, shark attacks, tornados....ect or anything else. Hopefully it just eliminates the welfare rats of the country.

Where does our running water come from?

I saw an episode of How Its Made that explained whag happens to the water we flush; it goes back out to the lakes and oceans... I never knew that and figured we just "recycled" the water we use to poop in, since it's, you know.. just used to carry our poop away...

So where does the water come from in the first place?? Lake/ocean also, or...?

Is it true that the water you drink was someone's urine previously ?

    Favorite Answer:

Given enough time yes.  Molecules of water that Julius Caeser or Jesus peed into a river have probably arrived in your drinking water.

How is amount of water on earth always constant when so much of it is used by humans?

For example an average person uses 100 gallons of water a day -- most of it for showering and flushing.

Other things also -- drinking, cooking, laundry, brushing teeth, etc etc

So the 100 gallons per person has already been used and gone. So how is amount constant ?
