Why would they not hire me?

I'm not going to say the name of the company but I had applied to a large company and they "hired" me. I got a confirmation email and everything saying I was hired and I gave them all my bank account info like they requested so they could direct deposit me my checks to get paid. Come to find out 3 days later I never hear back from the hiring manager so I tried calling him multiple times and he wouldn't answer. I'm just so confused why they would tell me I'm hired and then just practically ghost me like this. The manager even showed me around the store one day and told me what jobs I would be doing around the store. I have never seen anything like this. I have no way of getting in contact with anybody about it because the store says "we are not accepting calls at this time" when I try to call the store and the hiring manager won't answer my calls either. So weird.

    Are my intentions well-meaning?

I asked my gold-pendulum; it indicates

I have a strong potential to be a great

online tarot-card reader. It's not just so I

can stay home all day. It pays twice as much

as most other jobs I can do, and I'd be

happy to share those profits with my family.

Isn't that the goal of work, to find

    something suitable that is stable,

it pays well and won't break your mental-health?

So far, most jobs I've tried

    have caused me depression.

How do I deal with senseless workplace drama?

I've worked for my company 5 years. Recently we are very short staffed. My boss had confronted me with things " he had been hearing" from my co workers and said I should come to him instead of telling them. Only thing I mentioned to my coworkers was that I felt overwhelmed with the schedule, nothing more. I should point out that I'm very loyal and dependable. Ive came in countless times when they were short on staff and never called in a single day. I even got an employee of the year award one year and several raises. Now I feel disrespected and unappreciated. The boss had put up a sign that that if anyone has any issues with the schedule to come to him and not the others. I feel like that was directed at me. Its like beating a dead horse, I only have to be told once.  It seems like some of the coworkers think its funny and get some kind of satisfaction from it. Sad part is, I thought they were my friends only to go behind my back. I have no idea why they have done this to me. Any ideas as to what I should do? Its getting to where I dread to go to work and I'm beginning to understand why nobody works here for long.

How do all temp agencies work??

So I had a phone interview through an agency and ask me what is your strengths and what is the type of work you are looking for I said general labor big mistake by me because I want to do some easy computer stuff work. After that the agency lady offer me 2 factory jobs I can work at I choose the one that pays high. I had to go through a drug screen though first at the agency then I  can start working. First week I hated it but then I kinda got used to it after several weeks. I still hate general labor work its super low skilled and I don't know what other low skill computer work I can look for. Also do ALL temp agencies give you a set time limit contract for at least 3-4 months I heard? And they will have to make the determination on whether to make you permanent or let you go on the place I will be working at?

What can you put on your resume when you have no previous work history?

I'm trying to pad out my first resume to make it look as impressive as I can, But I have no previous work history. What else can I put in place of that to prove I can be a good candidate for consideration?

Would it be ok to not be specific over where your last job was on a resume?

For example, let's say I worked as a grocery store clerk, would it be ok to just put that as my job experience, or do most places want you to put the exact store you worked at? Any thoughts on that?

I have been working at a restaurant for a year and they won’t give me a raise. Should I quit?

I consider myself to be a very hard worker. I always show up on time and even take extra shifts

Am I right to be upset about my manager texting me when I’m off the clock?

I work for a company that has around 30 employees. The work schedule is Monday through Friday. The company is closed on weekends. There’s been times that my manager asks me if I can stay late and I have worked overtime even some Saturdays. I have felt stupid going on Saturdays because it seems like I’m the only employee that goes while everyone else is enjoying their weekend. Anyways, my manager has texted me when I’m off from work to ask my availability to work. This is something she can tell me at work face to face but she textos me at random times. Even one day during my lunch break she texted me to ask me a stupid question.

Well today she really pissed me off. It’s Saturday and she sends me a text around 4 pm asking if I could go to work tonight because of an emergency situation. I told her I had things to do because it’s not fair that I have to rush to work on my day off. I’ve already sacrificed my Saturdays to help her while all the other stupid employees had the weekend to themselves. Did I do the right thing to say no this time or was I suppose to drop everything and get to work? If she’s a manager she needs to fix whatever problem there is. She gets paid more than me, while I get paid mínimum wage.

One time she made me clean the cafeterias of the company and that’s not my role. I don’t want to continue being a doormat and being available without ever having time for myself. Was I suppose to drop everything to help her or I have the right to my own space ?

How do I convince my family that being an ice cream store manager is a good career?

    Favorite Answer:

Best way to prove them wrong is to find success doing what you want to do. I don’t understand why if you’ve wanted to do this for years you aren’t actively pursuing it by working at an ice cream store. Heck, if you have started working there when you first were interested in it, you probably could have been promoted to a manager position by now. But you’ve wasted years arguing with them about going to college or not instead of doing anything productive at all.

If you want to convince them, then go get the job and show that you can live independently and support yourself as an ice cream store manager.

Why do majority of STEM based jobs ask for PhDs?

Not everyone can afford let alone an BS or MS, let alone a PhD. So, why are these so-called STEM-based jobs asking for a PhDs. There are jobs that will accept BS or even a MS but majority ask for a PhD. Why so much after a PhD when someone with 5+ years of experience with and MS can provide the same thinkings and efforts?

Has anyone else experience the similar situation ? ?

I worked  last year and the job was only for a few months.  However the new year started and they called everyone back to work except for me. I would do my job and never cause problems. I don't know why they did not called me back

Why didn't this company hire me? please read the whole paragraph. Thanks?

So a few weeks ago I had two phone interviews with an engineering company , my first interview was with HR which was by phone . They approved me , my second interview was with manager, and it was also by phone and they approved me again. A week later, they invited me to their facility and they showed me around the facility. I dressed nice , I was being friendly, the manager showed me the workplace. He didnt ask me any technical questions, and I was acting like I was interested, I was telling the manager thats nice and so clean, etc. I also asked manager few questions like what the hiring process was, what teams I will be working on , etc. I went home and two weeks later, I received an email, they told me that they hired another candidate. I was like what did I do. I have no idea what I did in that facility that I turned them off. If they wanted to reject me, why did they showed me their facility in the first place ?

Can a woman go into the trades without being sexually harassed by male counterparts?

I used to work as a waitress and I got sexually harassed very often by men. They made comments about my breasts and such. I’d imagine if I were to go into a 80% male environment, the same thing happens?

Is it bad to quit a new job? ?

    Favorite Answer:

You can always politely turn down a job offer if you're no longer interested in the job or the company.

If you can afford to then quit if you want to. If you can't afford not to have a job, get another one lined up before you quit.

Don't bother using the job on your resume or as a reference.

Don't feel guilty about doing what you think is right for you.

Do you get rejected from normal minimum wage jobs when you include your degree?

I applied to a bunch of jobs because I need some income, but the only employers that replied back for an interview are ones where I did not list my degree.

Am I working too much ?

    At the moment I have 3 jobs. I work Monday & Tuesday 8am-4pm, Wednesday 9am-3pm and then Thursday/Friday/Saturday 2am to 10am.

I have been very tired and don’t really have a lot of time to do anything after work. From next week I will be working Monday to Friday 8am-4pm but my mum is trying to get me to continue 1 of the other jobs and work Friday Saturday 2am-6am.

I don’t really want to do it as I am just tired and want to relax but I want to know if my mum is asking too much of me. I know everyone has different circumstances and I am blessed that I have a job right now. I would just like to hear people’s opinions on this
