  • Should I take a weight loss suppliment?

So here is the score. In the last year, I've gained a bunch of weight, 30-40lbs. I've started working toward losing it and becoming more fit. I've started weight training, cardio (typically my stationary bike or a walk) and occasionally yoga. I have however come across an added issue. I'm finding I've got pain in my hips, knees and feet...I'm 27, so I'm kind of chalking this up to my additional poundage. I'm wondering if I should take a supplement to help shed the pounds quicker, thus reducing the stress on my joints. If you think this is the way to go please include your suggestions as to what supplement I should pick and why. Please no spam. Thanks in advance

  • when using a waterproofing spray on your tent, how long after should you wait until you use the tent?

So I'm going Camping in less than a week. The long range forecast is calling for some potential rain...at this point...I'm not worried about it...too far off. BUT my tent has leaked before, so as a precaution, I was thinking of using a waterproofing spray. I don't have a yard, I live in an apartment, so I don't have the option to set it up, spray it, and let it sit...So I was thinking, set it up as soon as we get to the site and spray. This is why I want to know how long I should wait before using the tent after. PS the time my tent leaked, was the very first time we used it, and I never got the chance to spray it with water to let the nylon swell, thought I'd put that out there before some one said get a new tent :). Also some one else set it up for us, and didn't put the fly on right...by the time I discovered it, it was the next morning and I was getting dripped on. So my question is about the waterproofing spray. Bonus question though, what little tricks do you have up your sleeve to help protect you from the rain when camping?

  • Just getting into hiking question about footwear?

SO, Where I live we just hit 25 degrees (Celsius) yesterday (which is unheard of for March) so thoughts have gone to summer for EVERYONE. I Just got my Hiking shoes here a month ago and my Husbands are on the way. My friend shows me somewhere she thought would be cool to hike. I'm pretty amped for this one, BUT there is a part in the online description where they say change to your sandals because you're going to have to walk in the water. I'm just getting into this stuff so I'll be honest, the only sandals I own have heels or are the cheapy ones EVERYONE has from Old Navy (If you don't have them I promise you know some one who does). I know what I will need it traction...so the flip flops are NOT happening. It's not a real tough terrain in the water, I just need to go in the water. SO I wanted to ask the more experienced hikers. For something like this would a water sock hold me over for now? OR should I look into some Sandals with Traction? I'm not going to lie...I'm thinking budget. BUT I probably have a couple months yet if I HAD to spread it out...

  • question about protein powder?

Ok I have see other questions on here in regards to this, but they haven't really helped to give me MY answer. I'm 25 year old female, I get up every morning down a HUGE glass of water, work out, and then have a fruit smoothie for my breakfast. I've been thinking of adding protein powder to it because I've reduced my caffeine intake here lately and I'm looking for natural ways to get my energy, AND I know it's good to start your day with protein. So I'm looking for a protein powder to match my needs. I DO NOT want to bulk up, I just want something to add into my smoothie

  • Trying to find the right workout routine for me?

So I'm REALLY trying to find a great workout routine for me that I won't get bored with. I'm not in a financial position to go buy a treadmill, OR get a gym membership (not to mention I could see me not using it). Over the summer I got into running. I did a 5mile run for charity though work and got into it, but it's getting too cold for running. SO I'm now left with DVD's. People keep recommending dance dvd's to me because they say they're fun and easy to stick to, which is great if you like dancing...I don't. I DO like yoga, but I was still looking for some cardio stuff, and noticed kickboxing. I think I could seriously enjoy that. So now getting to my question is how is the gaiam line for dvd's? I found one for kickboxing which also has a 30min work out so that would be perfect on more rushed days. I also found a yoga one. Let me know what you think of these or if you have another easily obtainable suggestion let me know :)

  • Trying to find the right Skin Regime?

I've been sticking to a skin regime, where I would wash my face with Aveeno, then Dove, treat my blemishes with Neutrogena 2 in 1 treatment and moisturize with Anew moisturizer with spf 25 and Anew eye treatment. At night I do the same but use the Anew night stuff, and Olay regenerist serum. I'm getting to a point were I'm spotting fine lines. After so long worrying about acne, lets throw wrinkles in too. I have combo skin, dry except my T zone which is oily. I suppose I'm looking for suggestions and or links with guides and such. If you can help me out a little it would be GREAT

  • I need help finding those coffee saucer things?

Hi there, I'm wondering where you can get those saucer coffee things. Yes I will continue because right now odds are you're scratching your head. Those coffee makers that you can put the little saucer thing in and it reads the bar code to "make the perfect brew". Here is where the question gets complicated. I live in Canada in the Maritimes, so Target or Macy's or exclusively American stores aren't going to work for me (not for a couple of years anyway both are crossing the boarder down the road). I'm not buying them NOW I'm going to down the road, for a Christmas gift for my uncle (I know I just made some people hate me for that ).

  • What do runners do in the winter?

So back in May my work asked me to do a 5mile run for our "Marathon By the Sea" event, and I agreed. I've been "in training" since (my run is Sunday). But I've come to enjoy my runs and I would like to continue. My dilemma? I'm Canadian, and part of being Canadian is learning to deal with Canadian Winters. It's already starting to feel like fall so my question is, what do runners do in the winter. If you're giving me ideas for apparel excellent, I've seen some ideas online already, my concern is still foot wear. Slush Puddles and Snow banks as tall as I am will likely total my running shoes. If you're going to give me an alternative? Also excellent, BUT avoid telling me treadmill...I hate them. Thanks in advance

  • How Does Corona Differ from other Beer?

Ok Beer fans I need some help. I've been wanting to try corona for a while and just haven't mainly because well I'm not sure what to expect. Is it smoother? does it have a different flavor? Right now my beer experience consists of Bud Light, Moose light, bud light lime, and moose light lime. If you can compare it to any of those that also would be helpful. Thanks :)

  • Help me plan my outfit!?

I thought this might be fun, and helpful because I'm SO in a rut. Tomorrow, I'd like to wear my red and blue plaid Shirt dress, knee length. I've only ever worn it in the winter with Tights, boots, and a wool cap or baret. It's light enough to wear in the summer too (yay for versatility) BUT I'm not sure how to pair it. This is where you come in. How should I rock this shirt dress? I'm talking shoes, accessories, how should I do it? You can describe it, or polyvore it. I'm looking for inspiration. I won't sacrafice my personal style, I'll be honest I'm not a girly girl, however a touch of femininity to a more masculine outfit is ALWAYS welcome. If you wanna touch on Edge also AWESOME, that's a little more me, converse and leather cuffs welcome.lemme see what you got! :)

  • Time to make Healthier choices?

So In the last year I've started doing the whole healthier living thing. Getting more exercise and eating better. It hasn't been easy because well my Fiance loves his junk. BUT I guess some one made a comment about him gaining some girth, and well he's looking to me now. It's all well and good but I did a BUNCH of research and such, and it all pertained to females. SO I need to gather some info for guys. The REASON he's suddenly gained is because he quit smoking, and has tried replacing it with food. He does work in Manual labor so up until now, work always covered him for exercise. His typical diet includes cereal (think lucky charms, reese puffs etc) frozen dinners, granola bars, pop, and he actually gets healthy food when we eat together at dinner. He has agreed to cut WAY back on the pop, he said he'll have one of the small bottles each day and refill it with water for the rest of the day (believe me, this is a huge accomplishment), I said I'd make him healthier versions of his frozen dinners for him to take, I think I may have a fight on my hands with the cereal, but he'll eat my oatmeal with me. I'm looking for a substitute for the granola bars. I was thinking something with carbs or protein, I know they're fuel and would be especially helpful in his line of work. I need some guidance, any sites , tips etc?

  • ANOTHER question about wedding registry?

SO I've asked a TON of questions about making a wedding registry and yup here's another. I know I want to make sure I have PLENTY of items under $50, BUT is there a minimum amount I should be looking at? I just added an item that's $2. In a way I think an item that small would work, If I have some one on a REALLY tight budget they could go for a couple smaller items. or is like $2 lazy?

  • Do Canned Anchovies have a best before date?

I bought Anchovies a WHILE back and ended up not using them. They've been sitting in my fridge since. I just spotted a new recipe and it called for anchovies. I'm wondering since they're canned are they still good? Or should I plan on picking up a new can at the shops?

  • Makeup question for my wedding?

I've already decided on the basic look for my makeup for my wedding, but I'm still tweaking. I'm going very natural and I'm using a mineral powder foundation. My question is, should I be putting something under for longevity? I'm concerned about foundation, because the weekend I'm getting married it usually rains really bad, or is the first REALLY hot day of the year, so either could melt a liquid foundation. I found an "active" foundation that is supposed to stay on, but it has crap for colours, I'd be lying if I said I'd like to continue my makeup experimentation. I have other things to cover right now. I have a tinted moisturizer as well as an option, I could go concealer and mineral powder alone, and plan on touch ups. Which is fine, I know roughly how often I'd need to touch up from experience with the makeup. The other option would be me going out and getting primer. If you think the primer route, give me some of your faves as well. Thanks :D

  • Camping cookware suggestions?

SO Last summer, I bought a cheapy cookware set, simply because I was in a rush and on a very small budget...well I totaled that set. I'm looking online now at different sets and am looking for some guidance. I'm looking at a Stainless steel, enamel, and anodized. all three of these sets cost the same, there are plates and such in the enamel, but I have a set of dishes, so that's REALLY not a deciding factor. Which way would you go?
