1 AnswerWeather1 decade agoRose Bush help please.....?
Please excuse my ignorance here, I am very new at growing rose bushes, but they are so beautiful, I couldn't help myself, I had to try. Last year I started my hybrid tea rose garden. Anyway, when I planted them, I took them out of the pot and shook the roots loose, thinking that's what I needed to do. This year, they all came back really looking good. And I found out this year, when I planted my JFK rose bush, that I am not supposed to shake them, it "disturbs" the roots, right? I bought another rose bush today, it's called the "New Day" hybrid tea, well, they told me to be very careful when planting it and make sure I didn't disturb the roots. So I went out to plant, as carefully as I could, and as I pulled the plant out of the pot, it literally crumbled in my hand, all I was holding was the root with the greenery above it. It looked like a stick in my hand. I was crushed. My question is, will it be ok? I called the greenhouse where I purchased it, and they said, it might die. So whats the best thing to do? I watered it in really well. Is there anything else I can do to help give it more of a chance? Like I said earlier, please excuse my ignorance, I am fairly new at this and want to get the best out of them that I can. Thank you all for your time. I appreciate all the help you all can give. If it helps at all, I live in Texas. In the panhandle area. (Northwest) Thanks again and God bless
3 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agowhat sound I do about mother in law?
Ok, lets start out with this, when my hubby and I got together, I had an 18 month old baby, that was never a secret and was the first thing I told him. Anyway, we got married and had 3 more kids. He has never treated my oldest any differently than his own sons. To the both of them, they are flesh and blood. Jeryd (my oldest) doesn't know, hes only 7, I do intend to tell him the truth when he's old enough to understand. Anyway, 2 days after Thanksgiving, my mother in law called me and informed me that she has never liked my oldest, because he's not her grandson. But the other 3 were and she loved them all very much. Needless to say, I said a lot of things I shouldn't have and reacted horribly, but what would you do, if you got a call from a family member attacking one of your children? Ok, this was, like I said, in November and we haven't spoken since. Anyway, this Thursday is one of the "biological" grandsons 5th birthday, and I don't want to be one of those people that excludes the in laws because we don't get along. I know my children need to know her and things like that. I'm just not sure how to approach it. I don't want to send her an email, that seems kind of immature and chicken(ish) of me. I want to call her, but I don't want to rehash a bunch of things. I want to try to move on, for my kids. I can't just forget what she said though... I don't know what to do. My kids need their grandmother, so what do I do? And kids are smart, they can pick up on tension, I don't want his birthday ruined because we are both stubborn women. Some advice or opinions would be great. Thank you all for your time and God bless
10 AnswersFamily1 decade agobaby blue and gold macaw?
Hi, I have been talking with a very nice lady about purchasing one of her blue and gold macaws, they were born Aug. 1st and she said they won't be ready until around Christmas. Is this right? I know they need to be fully weaned, I just don't know how long that takes. From what I have read, that is right, that it takes at least 4 months to completely wean a large macaw. I just want to know that I read that right. I came here because I know here in these forums, people are very intuitive and can be a great help to me with my questions. I just don't want to be one of those that paid $1000 to be scammed. I don't really think that's the case, I just need to cover my rear. Thank you all so much for your time. God bless
3 AnswersBirds1 decade agobirth control pills and breastfeeding?
I recently went to my dr because I am nursing a baby that is nearly 11 months old, and getting a period every other week. I had my period normally, once a month for a while, then it started coming every other week, a little frustrating, as I'm sure you can imagine. Anyway, they are full blown, lasting a week and extremely heavy. So my dr put me on TRI SPRINTEC b/c pills to regulate me. Now the issue with that is, I have read and read about it and everything I am finding says to avoid the pill while nursing. My dr knew I was still nursing my son and still prescribed this, so I am assuming that she knew what she was doing. My question is, why would she prescribe it and should I continue to take it? Is it safe? Do any of you have anything similar? I have called her office, but she's on vacation. (go figure) I can't get her until Monday. Thank you all for your time and God bless
4 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agowill my rose bushes come back?
hi, i am new at planting rose bushes and taking care of them. it has recently become sort of a hobby. i have a couple that are turning yellowish colored, i have identified one of them as having "black spot mold" and i have treated it the way it was supposed to be treated. its still not doing so well. my main question is, will the rose bushes come back every year? and since i just planted them within the past few weeks, will they have time to bloom again this season? i know it seems as im rambling a little, i just have so many things to ask, and im not sure where to start. thank you all for your time and God bless if it helps at all, i live in Texas
5 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agohelp with a stray cat and broken jaw?
there is a stray cat that hangs around my house, i feed him all the time. he will not let me get close enough to him to catch him. there is no way i can take him in to the vet, though i would love to. he came over today for his routine feeding and i noticed that the right side of his mouth wont close and there is some blood there. i also watched him after i put the food down for him, he tried to eat it, but couldnt. it broke my heart. anyway, i dont know if it will heal on its own, or what i can do to help him. i have given him some canned milk, thinking that if he cant eat, at least he can have some kind of nutrition. i just need to know, what can i do for him? the vet wont come out here because im so far out in the country. should i put him down or will he be ok? i dont want to be unfair to him and keep him around if it wont heal on its own, but if it will, i dont want to take drastic measures, although he wont let me get too close, i have grown to love and respect him. please help.
9 AnswersCats1 decade agohelp with webcam please?
my friend just got a few webcams off ebay, we have the same programs on our computers (just to get that out there), her webcam works really well, mine shows that she is viewing it, but all we can see on both our ends is a black screen. none of the cameras came with any software or anything like that, she just hooked hers up and it works. so, we assumed that mine would do the same. what do i need to do to get it to work? i have tried all the trouble shooting i can think to try and still get nowhere. please, if someone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

9 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoGoing Green....Electricity??
I am sure this is going to sound really stupid, but I have a question about the "going green" thing, what difference does it really make, if any, to unplug things that are not in use? For instance, my toaster, it's not doing anything, so why unplug it? I just don't understand this, I would like to. So if someone could please make sense of this whole thing of unplugging things that are not in use, I would appreciate it. It would help me base my thoughts and actions on what to do. Thanks to everyone for answering. God bless
3 AnswersOther - Science1 decade agosonogram anxiety!!!?
so i have had this sonogram scheduled for almost a month now and its finally here, well tomorrow, (and that feels like its never going to get here) anyway, i was just wondering what the odds were of finding out the sex, i am 19 weeks today. do they work with the baby and try to get them to "open up"? or just take a look for measurements, spinal and neural health? i should know this, as i have 3 little boys already and have been through this, my anxiety is getting to me. i just wanted to see the percentage of expectant mothers who got to find out. thank you all for your time. baby dust to all who are trying!!! God bless
if it helps at all, the place im getting it done it not busy, its a small hospital in a tiny town and all they use is "old" equipment. so maybe they can take more time with me? i must sound annoying. thanks again, in advance.

i know this is probably a stupid question, im just trying to figure out if going to the dr would be pointless. for the last few days, my left arm keeps going numb, nothing hurts, at all. but my fingers constantly tingle, its making me crazy. i just called the dr and they said i would have to come in, as they cant tell me anything on the phone. i just doing want to drive that hour to the dr if its pointless. any answers would be appreciated. and i can feel the baby moving around, so i know he/she is fine. thank you all for your time. 11 AnswersPregnancy1 decade ago13 weeks 1 day and no heartbeat heard?
i went to my regularly scheduled appointment this morning, i am 13 weeks 1 day and at 9 weeks we had to do an ultrasound to make sure this was a viable pregnancy, because i had some bleeding and cramping, anyway, at that time the heartbeat was 164 a minute and going strong. i just wonder why we couldnt hear anything this morning and i cant help but be worried. i have not had any more cramping or bleeding at all. aside from the nausea and fatigue, i feel fine. i am supposed to go back in two weeks to see if we can hear anything then, but i wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this and had everything turn out ok. this is my 4th pregnancy and the others were fine, so im just curious. sorry for the rambling and thanks for your time. God bless
another thing, we know i am 13 weeks 1 day, no less, because the ultrasound and my last period are in sync with each other. thanks again

13 AnswersDogs1 decade agoputting things behind you?
how do you get over things from the past? how to get past certain smells that trigger horrible memories?: i need some advice. there are things i cant get over that seems to remind me of an awful time in my life and i dont know how to cope with it. for instance, i was abused in every since of the word as a child and the smell of beer takes me back to a place where i dont want to be, how can i deal with it? my husband likes to enjoy a beer a night after a hard day at work, no big deal right? well, it shouldnt be anyway, but the smell of it bothers me. its a constant reminder of my childhood, and its not fair to my husband because it wasnt him that inflicted the pain on me. so please any advice would help. how to i get through this? please no rude comments, this is a real problem to me. i have gone as far as to seek counseling, she says she doesnt know how to desensitize me to this subject. i need a form of guidance and im unsure how to go about it. i do pray, but i need something else.
18 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agosorry to ask again, just concerened?
i posted a question a little earlier about cramping and spotting during pregnancy, i just used the restroom, and again there is the smallest twinge of pink on the toilet paper, it is better than yesterday, but still there a little, its just so scary and im looking for someone who knows what im talking about. my other 3 pregnancies never did this and im not sure how to deal with it. im trying not to worry, but im not succeeding very well with that.im 7 weeks along and the dr said we have to wait 2 more weeks to look and see if there is a heartbeat, does anyone know what this is and have any of you had this and continued on to have a healthy baby? theres not anymore than normal cramping, i know that part is supposed to be ok, just when there is a little pink with it, it kind of puts a lump in my throat.. please some advice or just someone to let me know they have gone through this and everything was fine. thank you for your time i appreciate your answers. God bless
13 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agopregnancy cramping?
first off let me say, maybe im looking for a little reassurance, i know its normal to a point but it still scares me, with that said,
a couple days ago, i noticed a little spotting, i called the dr and he said it was ok cause it was just a little pink and was gone just as fast as it was there. yesterday, i noticed some light cramping and around 4 i went to the restroom and rhere was quite a bit of brown stringy stuff ( sorry if that is too gory i just want to be straight out with it ), anyway, i called my dr again, and they told me i need to get to the hospital. so i went and my dr said that he isnt sure whats going on, that its too early to even be able to see a heartbeat with a sonogram and that we wouldnt know anything for 2 more weeks. by the time i had gotten to the hospital yesterday, the brown spotty stuff was gone. i have 3 kids, but i dont remember any brown stringy stuff with them. i know every pregnancy is different, i just want to know if it sounds normal to yall. God bless
4 AnswersPregnancy1 decade ago6 weeks pregnant and little pink spot on toilet paper?? help please?
i should know the answer to this because i am a mother of 3, i am in my fourth pregnancy and i just used to restroom and noticed a very small amount of light pinkish spotting when i wiped, i wiped again and there was a little, so i wiped yet again, and there was nothing. what could this be? i went to the dr yesterday because i have a severe kidney infection, could it be the medication or could it be the infection? please, this is a little creepy. i called the dr, spoke with his nurse, and she said it was common, i just wanted to know if there were any women that knows what im talking about and can offer some helpful advice. im praying that this isnt the beginning stages of a miscarriage, there is no cramping what so ever, im just creeped out, understandably, i think. anyway, please, any kind of thoughts on this would be appreciated. also thoughts and prayers are always helpful. i thank you for your time. God bless
