Switching to a healthier lifestyle - ALWAYS STARVING?
I decided I wanted to live healthier and in the past week, I have switched to healthier eating and exercise (mainly weight training).
Prior to this week, I d always skip breakfast. Sometimes I d even skip lunch and gorge myself at dinner (by this point I d be starving). My meals were often fast food style (i.e. burgers, chips, kebabs, really fatty and unhealthy things). Whenever I d finally eat, I d feel immensely satisfied (hunger wise).
Now I always have my three meals a day with snacks in between, most of which are high in protein (e.g. chicken or yogurt). The problem is I am NEVER satisfied now. Sometimes I eat a meal and am uncomfortably full, but less than an hour later, my stomach is gurgling and growling as if I hadn t eaten for a week (worse than when I used to skip breakfast and lunch). It s as if I never ate at all. Other times, I get no satisfaction whatsoever. Like now, I just ate a giant cucumber and a banana and my stomach is currently still gurgling. Prior to this week, I would have been comfortable.
This week I have also upped my water intake. I wish I could blame the exercise, but I ve literally only done two proper workouts so far. I m certainly not pregnant.
I m eating foods with substance (the same amount as I always have ((possibly more), but just much healthier choices).
What is going on??
6 AnswersDiet & Fitness3 years agoInjured baby bird - help!?
I've come across a baby bird (a fledgling I'm guessing as it's not pink and rather has its feathers) - it must have fallen out of a tree, because my dog got to it. Fortunately she's a gentle labrador and had no intention of killing it, but didn't understand that carrying it around in her mouth was damaging.
I got it off her. It was breathing and seemed to be in shock, but I couldn't tell what the injuries were like. I returned it to the tree, but the nest was way too high, so I placed it lower down and was hoping the mother bird would work out the rest.
An hour has passed and the bird is in the same spot and all the birds from that tree seem to have gone quiet.
What should I do? (It's the evening here so there's not much I can do in terms of taking it anywhere). Do I leave it in the tree and keep my fingers crossed (hoping it doesn't fall out again or a cat doesnt come along), or should I try and retrieve it again and get it warmed up? If the latter, then what?
Thanks for any advice.
2 AnswersBirds4 years agoHelix (cartilage) piercing advice?
I am contemplating getting a helix piercing at the top of my ear.
I've had one before, but had some issues. I had it for about 3 years but gave up on it and removed it, because even after this length of time, it was always tender. It was pierced at a professional place with a butterfly-clasp style stud, and I believe part of the issue was that I was always getting my hair caught in it or knocking the back of it with my fingers (I have the habit of putting my hair behind my ears).
That leads me to my question - is it common (better yet, advisable) to get initially pierced with a flat back labret type of stud?
I don't know that it's relevant, but I have a really tiny bump(?) behind my ear from the original piercing, but can't remember if this arose before of after removing it. It feels really hard but also feels as if it's embedded in the cartilage rather than on the surface. This shouldn't be an issue should it, assuming I place this new piercing slightly differently?
Thanks for any advice.
3 AnswersOther - Skin & Body4 years agoNose stud advice - what is the best metal?
I've had my nose piercing for approximately six years, and in the past month it has developed the dreaded bump. Although it is red and there is a very small amount of pus, the bump is not painful at all to clean (I have been using sea salt and tea tree oil for a month which has shown minimal improvement).
I went to the doctor this morning to have it checked out. She agreed that the area LOOKS like it should be very painful, but because it's not, she suspects it's not an infection, rather that my body after six years has started to reject the metal. I don't know what metal it is made from, but I purchased it from a proper piercing shop, so I'd imagine either surgical steel or titanium.
The doctor recommended I get a 24ct pure gold nose stud, insisting this is my best chance of clearing the bump and redness (assuming infection isnt the issue). I am obviously considering this advice, however I've done my own research and have found online that many sites recommend titanium or surgical steel before pure 24ct gold. So, now I'm at a loss and feel like I;m back at square one.
Can any professional piercers clear this up for me? Is 24ct gold a good option, or should I try another stainless steel or titanium stud (the doctor suggested the current one may have broken down a little bit and exposed the piercing site to some of the yucky metal bits).
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
1 AnswerOther - Skin & Body4 years agoProfessional body piercers! I need help with nose piercing bump (pustule)?
So I've had my nose pierced for about six or seven years and it has been relatively hassle-free until now.
In the last week a dreaded red bump has developed just above the piercing (and there is pus, so I believe it is infected).
The bump doesn't really hurt now, but it was painful to 'wiggle' my nose when it was just starting to come up.
I've been cleaning and soaking it with a non-iodised sea salt solution three times a day for the past week but I haven't really seen any improvement.
I'm reluctant to go to the GP for antibiotic cream as I used this back when I had a belly piercing infection - it healed the infection but unfortunately the bumps scarred and I'm petrified of this happening with my nose as it's quite an unsightly bump.
I've read recommendations online such as tea tree oil and chamomile tea bags, but there seems to also be people opposing those suggestions so I'm very conflicted.
Are there any professional body piercers out there that can give me any advice?
It would be greatly appreciated!
1 AnswerOther - Skin & Body4 years agoSamsung Galaxy s7 not displaying notifications - please help!?
Hi,
So I recently upgraded from an iPhone 5S to a Galaxy s7 and have just set it up. It does not have a SIM yet as I have not switched it from the old phone, all I've done is download and log into all my social media on the new phone.
The issue I'm having is that the Galaxy s7 seems to not be giving me notifications - for example, when I get a Facebook or email notification, it pops up on the iPhone, but not the Galaxy - I have to manually go in and check the notification.
I've checked all the notification settings both overall and in the apps individually, but everything seems to be fine.
When I got a facebook notification earlier on the iPhone, I disconnected and reconnected the wifi on the Galaxy, and then that Facebook notification immediately came through.
Any ideas on what the problem may be?
I considered it possibly being that Facebook and emails are logged into two phones at once, but surely that wouldn't matter?
Cheers

5 AnswersPolls & Surveys4 years agoLab puppy with swollen/puffy eyes? (Pictures included)?
So I have a yellow labrador puppy who is 16 weeks today. I went outside at approx. 11am this morning, (she's purely an outdoor doggy) and she looked perfectly fine, just like this: http://s678.photobucket.com/albums/vv150/claudzzzz... - This photo was taken yesterday, possibly the day before.
I went back inside and then went back out again at approx 2pm. She emerged from her kennel and the first thing I noticed was that she was having trouble opening her eyes completely. All around her eyes are fairly black too. it's hard to tell, but they kind of look a little swollen. Picture: http://s678.photobucket.com/albums/vv150/claudzzzz...
She is acting normal, full of energy and theres certainly nothing wrong her appetite, just her appearance. Im confident that her vision is fine, she's been following me everywhere as usual and jumps up to grab toys out of my hand.
Any ideas as to what could be wrong? This all happened in the space of a few hours, looking perfectly healthy to suddenly very sickly.
4 AnswersDogs9 years agoBleach or Blonde dye for Ombre hair?
I *dont* want to do this to my natural hair, so I will be doing it on clip in extensions which I will purchase in the next few days. The colour Im buying is #6 (Medium Brown) so my natural hair colour is around there, maybe a tiny bit lighter, possibly a tad darker.
I've watched a million and one youtube tutorials, and most of them say to use a powder bleach to colour the ends, along with a developer.
Can I just use blonde hair dye from the supermarket to do this? I know how to gradient it and all, but I want to know if dye is as effective as straight out bleach.
Leave in time doesnt bother me, I'm generally pretty patient.
No guesses please, I need a super accurate answer so I dont mess this project up,
Thanks so much guys. :)
3 AnswersHair9 years agoCats not getting along with new labrador puppy?
I apologize, this is going to be pretty long, but I dont want to leave any important details out.
I have two outdoor cats, one male DLH 7 years old, one female tabby, 2 1/2 years, both desexed of course. I picked up my new purebred labrador puppy (8 weeks, therefore not spayed) from the breeder over the weekend, she is also outdoor. (I'd just like to add that all my outdoor pets have appropriate bedding and everything they need, so please dont tell me they should be kept indoors. They are all content outside.) Anyways -
When I first bought the puppy home, I put her inside in a box, then introduced the cats to her (indoors). I had to do this by holding them down as they were very threatened by the dog.
After the introduction, I let them out. I have never seen my cats run so fast over the fence. The puppy then went out to explore. It has now been 3 days. My cats used to always be in the backyard. They only hang around in the drive away now, and I am lucky if I see them once a day. (Food is always left around the front alongside water.) Basically, they're too paranoid to be in their own backyard.
I got desperate today, so I grabbed one cat from the front yard into my arms, let him snuggle up for a few minutes, and then took him outside. All was good so far as the puppy was on the ground. Unfortunately the lab got a bit excited and thought it was a good idea to jump up and bite the cats tail which absolutely terrified the crap out of him and caused a lot of hissing and growling, so I quickly put him back inside. I popped the cat to sleep on my bed. 15-20 minutes later, I also added the puppy to my room and shut the door. The cat hissed at her which caused her to start whimpering, while the cat hid under my bed. Yet again, I am back at square one.
If it matters at all, I only introduced the older cat because he is much calmer, and I know the tabby will be much much more ferocious. She also tends to copy everything the older cat does, so I believe that if I can sort him out, she'll trust him and adapt to the puppy as well.
The older is still fast asleep at the end of the bed, so it is such a relief that he has not lost trust in me.
I would just like to say, please no answers suggesting I should give one of my pets up. I love all my pets and they are all well provided for, so this is not an option. This is just a case of getting my cats to adapt to the fact that they need to share their yard with a puppy. My yard is massive, so there is more than enough room for them all. I just need some guidance or how to fix the problem. It's been 3 days since my cats even sat on the backyard fence let alone have come into the yard. Do they need more time? Is there something else I can do?
Again I apologize for the length of my description. Thanks for any help!
1 AnswerCats9 years agoPuppy Vaccination Schedule?
I live in Australia if that matters.
I'm getting a yellow lab puppy from a reputable breeder on Saturday, which will be aged 8 weeks and 2 days.
The litter of puppies had their first vaccination at 6 weeks of age from what I understand.
What I'm wanting to know, is what age will my puppy have to be to get her other injections? (I plan on getting the 3rd injection, though some people advise against it)
I want the vaccinations over as soon as possible, but I want to make sure they're done at safe times, obviously.
1st vac. - 6 weeks
2nd vac. - ?
3rd. vac - ?
Thanks guys!

1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoWhen is it okay to start moving a belly bar up and down?
So i got my belly pierced yesterday. It doesnt really hurt at all, unless I touch it, clean it, or bend over (I have a bit of tummy fat that sort of squishes the piercing.) So i have a few questions:
1. When should I start moving the bar up and down so it doesn't get 'stuck?'
2. Is it normal for it sting when I clean it? (Probably a silly question) I'm using an ear piercing antiseptic spray and an iodized sea salt solution i made up, and putting them both seperately on a ear bud.
3. When will the pain/discomfort wear off? I'm currently making my mum pick stuff up i drop and that sort of thing, so it would be nice to be more self efficient soon. :p
4. Sea salt soaks - Good, or bad? I've heard the salt can dry up the skin, so I'm a bit unsure about soaking it or not.
Any help is much appreciated, thanks a lot! [:

1 AnswerVideo & Online Games1 decade agoSo I need a bit of info on belly rings/bars, can you help?
Okay, so I want to get the top of my belly pierced, and I have a few questions. 1. With the initial piercing, does it matter if the piercer uses a straight or curved bar? 2. I see most people have curved ones, is there more chance of infection or something like that, if a few months down the track i decide to wear a straight one, or does a curved one just look better? and 3. What's the average length of the bar? Thanks for any help(:
1 AnswerOther - Skin & Body1 decade agoHow high are the chances of a belly piercing getting rejected?
I'm nearly 15 and I'm super sure I want a belly piercing. I'm scared, not because of the pain but the fact that there is a chance my body may reject the piercing. I understand there is no way to tell if it will be rejected until it actually starts to happen, but i'm wondering how HIGH are the chances of this happening? 1 in 3 chance, 1 in 10 chance, what? Thanks(:
PS - what does the area look like after a rejected piercing is removed? Does it look terribly scarred? Pictures would be great(:
5 AnswersOther - Skin & Body1 decade agoIs it alright to pierce your belly button if you are super ticklish there?
Okay, so I wanna pierce the top of my belly button, (like this: http://greatpiercingshop.com/blog/wp-content/uploa... I'm kinda ticklish there, and my belly button feels really awkward when i put my finger in it and stuff, (not sure if everyone feels that haha) so my main concern is, would I be really uncomfortable as the bottom of the piercing sort of sits inside the top of my belly button? Kinda hard to explain, hope you get it haha, thanks! (:
1 AnswerFashion & Accessories1 decade agohow do i make my fringe stay to the side?
Im 14 and finished having chemo roughly 9 months ago. Since then, my hair has grow roughly 6cms. (my hair fell out). I used to have my fringe to the left. Since it started growing back, I've just had it as a front fringe. When i try and sweep it to the left, it won't sit, but when i sweep it to the right, it feels really firm and comfortable, and sits properly. I really want it to the left like i used to have it, but it wont cooperate! How can I make it stay, but without hairspray or any chemicals?
