  • Horse Trailers to buy or not?

I know in this economy that buying a trailer is not on anyones top 10 list. I know that those of you that show/rodeo etc regularly most likely have a trailer already. But what about those people that just want to go a special yearly ride?

Has anyone else ever looked for a place that rents horse trailers? The first horse I bought I had to search for a trailer I could borrow so I could get him home. When I moved it took me 3 trips to get all the horses to the new house because I didn't have a trailer big enough. Then I had a trailer but was replacing the floor and had no way to get to the trail ride or the vet. I have seen a U-haul horse trailer ONCE and yet when I have called they say they don't carry them that it must have been an OLD trailer they no longer rent them.

Would any one be interested in a place that rented trailers? Maybe a small 2 horse just for convenience or a larger stock trailer for short hauls of the whole herd? How about a bigger better living quarters trailer for that week long trail ride that only happens once a year?

If you could find a trailer to rent would you have access to a truck to haul it or would you have to rent/borrow 1 of those too? What would you consider a reasonable fee for a trailer rental? I know a lot of places rent RV's and they run about $100 or more for the weekend if it is not a holiday or special occasion.

  • Looking for plans/patterns for carriage/wagon for small pony (41")?

I am getting into driving horses. If fact just started about 2 months ago and LOVE it. I have a small easy entry 2 wheeled cart but I am wanting something bigger. a 4 wheeled wgon or carriage nothing to fancy just a bit bigger so my son and I can both ride comfortably. money is tight like it is for everyone so I thought if I could find some plans to build something I could do it a little at a time. I dont plan on using wooden wheels but tires. All the books I find are for old fashioned vehicles with wooden wheels and seems like it would be hard to change them to tires. Can any one share their plans with me? Thanks in advance

  • What do you think the REAL colors are?

I'm looking at a mare 4 sale. She's listed as a Pinto buckskin. She has a LOT of white & the white hits the mane & tail area so the color is gone there & cant be used to determine her "true" color. Her papers seem in correct to me as well. What do you think? Sire-Black Dam-Sorrel, Grandsire on top Black Dam Palomino, on bottom black & sorrel. Third generation: Bay Sorrel Sorrel Grey,Bay Grulla Sorrel Sorrel. Fourth generation:redRoan BrownBrown Sorrel Sorrel Blue Roan Black Unknown, Sorrel Bay Buckskin Black Sorrel Sorrel Unknown Sorrel. I am just wanting to start a color/genetics question. I love this stuff and love seeing the right and wrong answers for it. Best of luck to all of you

  • Horseback riding Summer camp/schools?

Last year my 13 old daughter paid her own way to go to a horseback riding summer camp. She is learning the value of money and although she had fun said it wasn't worth the price because she did not get what she was wanting (education). She is now 14 years old and wants to try again this year. We are looking for a summer camp or school for horseback riding. She has ridden western and is now going english. She has fox hunted and plans to start competeing in Hunter/jumper she was a solid week of intense learning. We live in Oklahoma so it either has to be fairly close or have their own horses she can use. What are some of the better places that she could start looking into?

  • Communicate, future anything?

Ok I normally dont do this but I guess I am desperate. Can anyone help me communicate with my son? I lost him in Feb and I swear he came to visit me a couple of times but nothing in the last 2 months and I just miss him so much and dont know how to go on without him even though I have other children. I would like to know if anyone can tell me anything about my future-kids,men, job? I want another baby but am scared because I lost my son. I am afraid I might have a boy and think of him all the time or a girl and wish it was a boy and him again or a twins like i had but then how would my son feel being a twin and not having his brother and being raised with twins that had eachother? I have been having dreams about a baby girl? Is it wishful thinking or premonition? I had dreams about my twins 5 months before i got pregnant and wasnt even with anyone. I also knew I would loose 1 of them. Can anyone help?
