  • My dog endured serious trauma today. 2 Broken Legs and knee frac... Lung Trauma. Bone protrusion through skin.?

Car accident today...If my dog makes it through her Lung trauma and her bone/ skin protrusion and no infection is incurred... How long can I wait until front leg surgery*2? I am near bankruptcy and unemployed and this is gonna cost me close to 8g's maybe 10.... If I can wait 8 days then a surgeon will be here but otherwise I have to fly her or drive her 2000 miles away.... Again with no real money savings... 4 yr old gsd. She is tough as nails and has already had 2 fho's... If her lungs work out the vet said she can do it.... She was hit by a snowplow truck... Toughest dog I have ever met in my life... Doc said she is resting comfortably.... but I cannot afford the extra 4 g's to send her away when this is already gonna cost me 10g's... thoughts? Only would put down if Dr. advised... She has not done so... Same dr that did her hip surgeries previously so she knows the dog... Can I wait a week for double leg surgery...Accident happened today and may take 4-5 days to truly stabilize her...

  • Body work question.. truck backed into 02 Volvo S40. Damage on hood and bumper.?

The hood is bent in the middle on the Volvo grill.... The hood going back to the windsheild on either side is elevated about an inch on the sides... the bumper had a scrather about an inch wide and 4 inches long... Any idea on repair cost? is hood salvageable or does the bend mean it is rendered useless? Anyone know?

  • Recently planted a red oak tree on transplant. All the leaves are gone? why?

The tree was about 6 feet high and had beautiful leaves. After ten days now all the leaves are gone? I live in Zone 5 so is this season related?

We followed the details from the store we bought it. It was staked already in the bucket? We put plenty of bonemeal and peat and topsoil/ compost and even some lime. Any ideas? Or is this simply fall?

    Should I be worried?

  • Blue spruce planted about 5-6 years ago?

They are now about 8 feet high...The problem is a few of them have what looks to be competing stalks coming right up from underneath the ground growing parallel. I am unsure how this happened. Should we cut the smaller one or cut all around or what? I think it is affecting the overall tree and maybe more in the future or am I totally wrong? Any suggestions?

  • 2nd FHO Surgery. Problems this time. Seeking advice.?

My 2 1/2 yr old dog is a german shepherd X. She is only a small girl at only 50lbs. I got her from a no-kill org. at 5 months old where she was incredibly underweight and agreed to help her while she had hip surgery. She had 1st FHO at 12 months old on a very bad hip. 25% coverage. Recovery went well started weight on the leg with in two- three days and ended up recovering well. 2nd hip had 40% coverage. I was advised to get the surgery done on this hip also. I was reluctant as you would never say she needed it as she can run like the wind. I had two vets from different places recommend it get done after two or three x rays. Finally i have gotten it done and her recovery is much slower. It's been over a week and she is still not applying weight. I feel horrible. It may be premature I know but is there anything I can do. She was given MetaCam(liquid) this time and the previous surgery she was given deramaxx (tablet). Could this be a problem?

I have been applying physio to her leg gently moving it but she refuses to apply weight. Any advice please i feel like i should not have gotten this done.

I also feed her top of the line food. Previously Honest Kitchen. Now Orijen.
