  • Can you block certain people from seeing your comments but you can still see theirs?

On Facebook I have an acquaintance who is very rude to me. When she reads my comments on our mutual friends posts she makes fun of me and starts dumb arguments no matter how benign the comments are. I have her blocked as a result; however we have very many mutual friends. Sometimes she makes comments on their posts and what looks like an interesting conversation is going on, but I can't read her comments because I have her blocked. Is there any way I can have it so she can't see my comments on Facebook but I can see hers if she hasn't blocked me already? I have tried letting time go by and just unblocking her, but it's only a matter of time before she starts mocking me about something childish again.

  • Trying to remember name of old dos turn based read strategy game.?

I'm trying to remember the name of an old DOS turn based strategy game. I remember it had like a hex board and you had to explore to see more of the map. I also remember you had to take over cities and cities could produce creatures you'd use to explore and attack other cities or other territories. I remember there was a pegasus that took a few turns to produce but was very fast and could see far and it was great for scouting. I also remember slow moving soldiers, but not much else. It's not civilization but it was somewhat similar to it in concept. Does anyone remember the name of this game or any clues?

  • Are you required to visit an Aflac Agent at your work? If so, why?

At my work we are required to visit an Aflac Agent once a year regardless if we want to sign up for anything or not. I do sign up for some things, but I know what I want and don't want to hear a sales pitch. Other employees don't sign up for any thing, but they are still made to go. Sometimes when you meet with the agents, they are pushy and try to sell you products you don't want and I don't think it's right that my work requires us to meet with Aflac Agents. When people ask why it's required the general answer is "It just is." Is anyone here required and if so, do you know why you are required, or have any idea why we might be required?

    Thanks for your response.

  • Can an employer take 30 minutes off someones pay for being 17 minutes late?

I work in ND. My employer has no rules on how to tally how late an employee is. Therefore at my work, each office seems to have different rules on how they deal with tardy employees. One of my co-workers in another office was 17 minutes late after lunch. She expected her boss to tell her she could either take 15 minutes unpaid or use 15 minutes of vacation or make up the 15 minutes after 5. Her boss ended up making it a full half hour. Is this legal to round up that far?

Also, this employee is an hourly employee, not exempt from overtime. I don't think that makes a difference in this case, but thought I'd mention it just in case. We are also government employees.

  • Is there any evidence that good babies become bad teenagers?

I have a 1 year old daughter who is very good, if she cries, there's a very good reason for it and is generally a very happy go lucky baby. Even when she has a fever she's sure to give a smile to someone she recognizes. Brushing her teeth is no problem, she opens her mouth right up and lets me brush, etc. People keep telling my wife and I that a good baby always becomes a bad teenager and a bad baby becomes a good teenager. Is there any actual scientific evidence to back this up or is this just conjecture/myth?

  • Why didn't the Republican congress and president overturn Roe V. Wade between 2002 and 2006?

In 2002-2006, congress had a Republican majority. We also had a Republican president. Why didn't congress pass a law and Bush sign it to overturn Roe Vs. Wade if Republicans really are against abortion? (Yes, congress can overturn interpretations of law made by the Supreme Court. The Court interprets laws at the time of interpretation, congress makes the laws. All congress has to do is put something down in the law books if the Supreme Court makes an interpretation that congress doesn't like and/or doesn't intend) Or do they only talk about this during election years to get votes from those of us who are pro-life?

  • Is there a way to import a text file into excel that has fixed field lengths over and over without redefining?

I have a text file that contains data that I regularly receive from another person. The text file has fixed field lengths in it with no delimiters. The program they use to export is made by someone else and they can't add delimiters to the exported file. I'm getting tired of defining where the fields are all the time in Excel as it's a cumbersome processes and sometimes I make a slight mistake and have to start over. Is there anyway in Excel to predefine some sort of import template and use the template on the file I receive so I don't have to go in each time and redefine it using the excel import wizard?

  • Will I get better video quality on netflix watch instantly videos if I increase my internet speed from 1.5m?

I currently have a 1.5 mbit connection to the internet. If I pay for faster speed from my DSL provider, will I get better video quality from Netflix or will it look more or less the same? It's not too bad at all now, just would like it a little better. I'd prefer answers from people that know as opposed to the educated guess that it could/should be better because of the higher speed. I want to know if it actually would be, not could be. Thanks.

  • What exactly are the rules for being reported for a bad answer?

Twice now I've gotten e-mails for giving a bad answer that violated Yahoo rules. The first time I understood it, I was a little harsh with some kid that wanted people here to do all his homework. The second time I answered a question dealing with what Mexico is best known for. I answered "bad water" and I got an e-mail for violating the rules. How does this violate? I see you can report someone's answer, but who makes the decision that an answerer gets an e-mail? Just from one person reporting a bad answer?

I don't see how "bad water" is offensive. If someone said where I lived had bad tasting water, I wouldn't be offended at all.

  • Does one burn more calories liesurely biking or walking the same distance?

I currently walk to work and am looking for ways to try to burn more calories in my day. I also sometimes have to walk to different buildings a few blocks away from my main office for my work. Would I burn more calories if I leisurely biked them instead of leisurely walking them?
