  • How fast can breast cancer spread? Medical and financial planning advice?

Before my question please don't jump down my throat about self-exams, etc. Already did that...I am looking for personal experiences and/or medical advice.

My boobs hurt and are getting a little more sore every week. I'm 33 and my PPC has said I can wait until my next well-woman exam (in a week or so) for a breast exam....but I am leaving for vacation right after, then it will be the holidays and then a new insurance plan year.

I am considering waiting until March 2017 for the exam so I can buy extra insurance, critical condition coverage, fund my HSA and front-load my deductible (having another procedure in 2017 that I am planning for too). It may sound crazy but I can feel that something isn't right (in my left breast) so I am trying to be calm and plan for the worst senario...which strangely enough is not cancer but the thought of another decade of emotional and financial struggle just as I am getting my feet under me.

    Thoughts?

  • Kaiser medical terminology course in Oregon?

I am hoping someone will have experience gaining employment with Kaiser in Oregon and be able to answer this question.

When Kaiser says candidate must complete an "approved medical terminology course," in a job posting how do we know which courses are approved? This is for a job in Oregon. I'd like to take the course even if I am not hired.

  • Las Vegas Golf Course Wedding Venues...photo find?

I'm planning a wedding and the bride wants this location but she found it on Pintrest and we don't know which of the 40-odd courses in the Vegas valley has this site.

    http://media-cache-ec1.pinterest.com/550x/b8/a6/2b...

From the photo we can tell it is:

    1) On the west side of town (no casinos in the back ground), and those are the Spring Mountains

    2) In a residential neighborhood

    3) Ceremony sites are usually really close to the clubhouse.

  • What should I wear for a B&W photoshoot?

A local paper is writing an article about me and they are going to take some photos. The photos are digital (color) of course but they print in black and white (almost sepia tone). I'm a fair skin, dark haired white girl; what should I wear for the photos?

  • Talk therapy-what is it called in Psycho-speak?

I am just looking for someone to talk to (ie not being put on medication and told to go to group therapy which is what usually happens). I don't like group and I just need to talk to someone to get things off my chest so to speak. What would that sort of therapy be called...and don't say happy hour with my female friends because I do that too.

  • How to shorten a trumpet gown?

I need to shorten a trumpet gown for a short woman and I am having trouble. Normally I would just turn the front hem under an inch or two and taper to the sides but this dress needs about 5-6inches removed. I want to preserve the elegant curve and drape of the trumpet train but no matter how I pin it the sides want to square off. It is made of a heavy weight satin.

  • What would you name your sorority/frat? Just for fun...?

Because I am a recruitment counselor right now and can't talk to anyone about greek life until next week I got to thinking about what would a new sorority/fraternity be like. If you started one:

***Please be nice, this is supposed to be fun*****

What would you call it and what would the letters stand for:

    Colors and mascot:

    Principles or membership requirements:

Anything else you have always wanted to do in your frat/sorority but never did?

  • Suicide recovery...how to keep the bad thoughts away.?

A few months ago I was really close to committing suicide. I was stopped by the intervention of a concerned family member (textbook intervention, worked great). I am now in a better mental place but every once in a while those bad thoughts come back and sometimes I can't avoid the trigger. Any word of experience or encouragement would be helpful...

    1) Sad things on TV (I don't have one anymore) sometimes I hear stories on the radio or when TV is unavoidable (like someone else's house) that get me thinking about how shitty life is.

    2) Hearing things about other suicide cases makes me think about my plan and how I would do it differently. I can usually direct my thoughts in a different direction but I am afraid that at some point I won't be able to. I still have the household items that I would have used and sometimes seeing them gets me thinking about that time in my life...and how things are not much better.

    3) I hate group therapy and the only suicide recovery programs are groups. I tried it in college and "those people" drove me crazy with all their whining. I have been told by many people including some therapists that I am too smart for therapy (I think my way out of the therapeutic method).

    4) I don't want to scare the people close to me by asking questions or telling them to change the hard subjects so I don't think about suicide. I realized that the closer I got to doing to deed I was reaching out to family and friends...not so much for help, but more for permission to let me go.

    5) I am a planner by nature so I think out my life years in advance and when some unavoidable complication comes up that changes my perspective I head into a tail-spin of doubt and pessimism.

Some other things you should know: I am unemployed for the 2nd time in 3 years (not uncommon but it still sucks) I have tons of time to sit and think about life. I am broke and single. I have a ton of catholic guilt. I think the worst thing about me it that since I have a learning disability I learned at a really young age to fake my way through life. No one except my mom knows me well enough to tell I am hurting everyone thinks that I am so happy go lucky because I keep them at arms length.

  • Country Western Bachelorette in Seattle?

I am helping to plan a bachelorette weekend in Seattle. The bride is not a huge partier but she likes country music, swing dancing, and karaoke.

I've heard of the Little Red Hen but is it too far out of town over by Greenlake? Any other suggestions? Places to go, where to eat/drink, things to do?

  • Italian car rentals -Rome, Sienna, and Florence...then France?

Hello YA, I am planning a honeymoon and would like your advice/opinion on my itinerary:

We will be spending a few nights in Rome. I think we will just take a taxi from the airport to the hotel since there are two of us an we'll have lots of luggage (3weeks worth) On our last day I would like to check out of the hotel put our bags in the car and park the car near the Coloseum while we tour. It looks like there is a garage near there for 15E a day. We may make another stop at the the Villa Borghese they also have parking near by.

There doesn't seem to be any rental offices near our hotel by the Trevi Fountain. Is that normal? Do they come and pick you up or do you have to schlep your luggage across town?

When we leave Rome we will be heading to this amazing 300yr old monastery about 20min outside Sienna. We could take the train from Rome and then a taxi from the train station but if we went by car we could tour Tuscany while we are there.

When we leave Sienna we will be headed into Florence. I think we'll want to leave the car in Florence and take the train to Genoa...then into France (Nice I think) where we may want to rent another car to go into Cannes and Monaco on day trips.

Do you think it would be better just to keep the car all the way from Rome to Genoa or should we leave it in Sienna or Florence and switch to the train?

Have you ever done something like this? What did it cost you and would you do it again or try something else?
