  • How did you send the dreamweaver files to someone?

    ..Without having broken images?

My boss wants me to send the files I currently have in Dreamweaver to him on a flash drive. Every time I copy and paste all the files, they have broken files. Is this even possible?

  • Is posting a website about a former employer wrong?

My former boss promised to pay me a certain rate of pay when I first started my job. I quit only a week and a half afterwards, however, he claimed that my rate of pay was half of what I'm asking for. Unfortunately, we did not have a written agreement and will settle this through court.

I feel that he is taking advantage of me, and honestly, it was just a horrible place to work. I want potential customers and employees to know that he is unethical. Can I create a website with the facts about what my pay and bad experience without getting sued by him? I mean, it's not slander if it's true, right?

  • Who would win this work wage dispute?

So I worked at an art gallery. In the interview, my employer said that the rate of pay was $15/hour, and 'let's try out it for a month'. Due to his lack of respect, professionalism, and organization, I quit after a 8 days of work (8 hours a day). 17 days after I quit, he sent me a check for $400. I asked him what is going on, that it was incorrect, he said that our agreement was $10/hr and 60 days contingent for $15/hr. Now I know 100% that he made that up and said it was at $15/hr. The problem is that we don't have a written agreement, everything was verbal since I trusted him. Will the court take his word over mine? Any advice?

Also, his assistant was present during the interview and heard our agreement. She may side with him and lie about the rate of pay, or she may not. I'm trying to think of different ways to prove my case.

  • Is it bad that I want my own personal savings?

My husband I both work, he makes double what I make, but he pays for the majority of the house bills. He also has a lot of debt prior to getting married. After the bills are paid, he does what he wants with his money, and I do that same with mine. Since I have been saving my 'leftover' money for quite some time, he's upset that we don't use my savings to pay off his debt.

I understand that since we're married, we now share the debt.. but it seems kind of unfair to me that any sort of savings that I accumulate has to automatically pay his debt off. There are times when I would like to spend money (or save it) without him trying to spend 'my' money. Is it bad of me to think this way?

  • Does Adobe CS5.5 have backwards compatibility?

Ok, so right now I have all my Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash files in version CS2 on my computer. I would like to buy CS5.5, but am afraid that I will not be able to open up or modify my old files with them. Would there be any problems if I tried to use CS5 to view my CS2 files?

  • Help with javascript project?

I can't figure out how to code this properly, it is a problem from my textbook:

Create a web page that allows a user to enter a purchase price into a text box; include a JavaScript function that calculates shipping and handling. Add functionality to the script that adds a minimum shipping and handling fee of $1.50 for any purchase that is less than or equal to $25.00. For any orders over $25.00, add 10% to the total purchase price for shipping and handling, but do not include the $1.50 minimum shipping and handling fee. (The formula for calculating a percentage is price*percent / 100. For example, the formula for calculating 10% of a $50.00 purchase price is 50*10 / 100, which results in a shipping and handling fee of $5.00.) After you determine the total cost of the order (purchase plus shipping and handling), display it in an alert dialog box.

  • How do you feel about the way things are ran at home?

Ladies, (or men): do you feel like you do most of the work when it comes to taking care of your children? If so, do you care if your spouse/SO doesn't/does really help out?

    3 AnswersParenting1 decade ago
  • What is worse? Yelling or cussing?

Yelling/raising your voice at your spouse in front of your child, or cussing at your spouse out in front of your child? Or are they both equally as bad in your eyes?

For some reason, I feel that when my husband and I argue, I think that yelling is not nearly as damaging as cussing. (Because cussing involves raising your voice and teaching the child that cussing is ok). My husband apparently thinks the opposite.

I know I am totally biased in this, but I would like some thoughts.

  • For those of you who are divorced: When did you know was the right time to leave?

I know all couples fight now and then, and it's healthy to have disagreements.. but it seems like the arguments that we've been having lately are just downright rude, explosive, impossible to take back, and nobody ever ends up apologizing. We just try to bury our feelings and I feel like we resent each other. We've already been to counseling and it doesn't help, it just ends up with more fighting. When we fight, he resorts to cussing and calling me names when he doesn't know what to say to my points. Then I end up yelling because he's cussing at me and in front of our son. It's like I don't even know him anymore, it used to be so different.. and I don't know what to do.. stay and deal with this, or threaten to leave (causing even more drama)..

How did you know that your relationship was toxic and unhealthy enough, that it actually pushed you to leave? Has a temporary break ever worked for you?

  • Would this make you mad? Or am I just being a nag?

So I know I'm not exactly the perfect mother, but recently I've asked my husband to be more interactive with our son when they 'hang out' together. (Son is about 1.5 years old). Most of the time, I'll come in and see that my husband has turn on the tv and is sitting on the couch, and my son will just be watching and sitting on the floor. It kind of irritates me that he considers that 'taking care' of him, it just makes me think he's being lazy and it drives me nuts.. When I am with my son, I make sure that I talk, look and am paying attention to him. I'm not saying him watching tv is not good, I just don't think he should be watching it 24/7 and it being considered any type of quality time. My husband and I got into a big argument over this and he says that I'm just upset since it's just a style preference on how to take care of him. I said, "Are you kidding? It's not about style.. it's about being a parent and being there for your child."

What do you think? Am I just making a big deal out of nothing?

  • Does anyone the legal side to this?

If a wife decided to leave the house with her baby because her husband is being physically or emotionally abusive, does that mean that her husband can have her arrested if she leaves the state? Does she need to prove that he is being this way before she leaves?

Anybody know the legal side to all of this? It reminds me of Maci from Teen Mom, expect the fact that she and Ryan aren't married..

  • How does a salary job and vacation work in Arizona?

I have been working at this job for about 2 months. It is a salary position and I recently went on a 2 week vacation. When I came back, they said that it would be unpaid for the time I was gone. I thought salary positions meant that you get paid when you go on vacation. I also let my boss know ahead of time that I will be needing these 2 weeks in advance (about 2 months).

Do I get paid for the time I was gone? Is it illegal for them to do this to me? Or is it up to the company to decide what happens? If they are allowed to do it, does that mean I can refuse any overtime that they ask of me?

  • My 4 month old baby boy has a unibrow...?

I know that I shouldn't really care how he looks at this age, but sometimes it bothers me. Is there a safe and painless way to remove the hair without having the hair return?

  • How do I give rice cereal to my baby?

My baby just turned 4 months and I would like to start him on rice cereal. Do I just put 1 scoop (formula scoop sized) of cereal in his bottle (5 oz.)? How much rice cereal goes with each ounce of milk they drink? Should I cut a slit at the nipple hole? Or should I just make it like an oatmeal, (just cereal and water combo)?

Someone please help, I am so confused!

  • Unemployment claims for CA and AZ?

So I moved to Arizona about a year ago because of my husband's job ( we lived in California).. I was working in CA all my life and quit my jobs.

I was lucky enough to find a job in Arizona but got laid off after working in AZ for 9 months. I went on California unemployment (since it pays more), but now that it ran out, CA unemployment says that I cannot file an extention for CA, I must file for AZ. Is this right? Why can't I do an extention with CA when it wasn't my fault that we moved in the first place?

Does anybody know what I can do (if there is anything I can do)?

  • Going crazy with newborn?!?

I never thought it would be this tough being a mother of a newborn...he is 1 month old and is feeding every 2-3 hours, I am changing his diaper almost every time, and is noisy/fussing while he sleeps even after he is being fed. I am not getting much sleep at all, and my husband works so I am taking care of him most of the time. We don't have many family/friends here in Arizona (moved here about 2 years ago), so we don't know people that can help here.

I am going crazy, should I just hire a babysitter/nanny? Is he too young to have one? Does anybody have any good advice for me so I don't tear my hair out?!

  • Debating on this name! Please help!?

I'm due in 2 weeks, and this name has stuck with me this entire time for a boy: Kayden Riley Chappell. Half of the people I ask about it say that it's too trendy (like Jayden, Hayden, etc.), the other half have said they have never heard of it. I honestly made it up in my head thinking it would be unique! What do you think?

  • freaking out about my weight!?

I am 8 months pregnant and have gained 40 lbs. so far into my pregnancy (originally 125 lbs.)

The doctors says that average weight gain should be 30 lbs., and it is really freaking me out that I am 10 lbs. over...should I be worried?

It's not like I am eating 24/7, I try to eat 2 regular meals a day, with a few snacks in between. I try to avoid fast food and sweets, drink lots of water, and eat healthy. I don't exercise that much since it's hard to move around with this belly in the first place. Am I going to be okay?
