Medical school admissions?
My girlfriend has applied to several medical schools and after 3 rejections, I'm starting to get nervous. She has an undergrad GPA of 3.2 and pre med GPA of 3.4 and her overall science GPA is 3.1. She's been working professionally in the medical field for 5 plus years, and 3 of those years she's been a disease investigator and HIV specialist. The problem is her MCAT was very low. Does she have a chance of getting in to a med school program?
2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoOn May 31st, what do you think the DNC will do?
when they meet about FL and MI. Any predictions? Does anyone think they'll seat some or all of the delegates?
11 AnswersElections1 decade agoMy fellow Clinton supporters, how do you feel?
do you think she should exit or take it to Denver? I am on the fence about supporting Obama in the general election. I still don't like him, democrat or not. My reasons for not supporting him in the first place haven't changed. I'm thinking of starting a group for my fellow, angst ridden feminists called B!tches against Barack! I'm being sarcastic of course, but I really don't like him.
27 AnswersElections1 decade agoHow is voter turnout in WV?
I know the little coverage of WV has to do with my favorite candidates slim chances at the nomination (but I support her anyway!) I was just wondering if anyone knows how heavy turnout is, etc. Thanks.
4 AnswersElections1 decade agoHow Hillary can bow out...?
Everyone, especially Obama supporters want Hillary to drop out, so I say, she should, and run as 3rd party, independent candidate. Any thoughts?
14 AnswersElections1 decade agoChaos vs Unity. Any thoughts?
I have a friend in Iowa and when they held their caucus months ago, my friend mentioned "operation chaos" but back then, most of the switch over candidates were voting for Obama. Now, operation chaos has switched to Clinton. My question is, when republicans vote for Obama, they are being brave, and trying to unite and create a new kind of politics, but when republicans vote for Clinton, it's operation chaos. I know a few die hard Clinton supporters that are republicans. Obama doesn't have a lock ont he republican support! I would imagine Hillary would be a better candidate for them than Obama. He's a little more left. Any thoughts?
2 AnswersElections1 decade agoVoting Problems today in Philly?
This morning, my girlfriend and I went to ward 40 division 30. Now, while signing our names and showing ID, the poll worker handed us a paper with all of the democratic candidates, Obama and Dougherty's names were highlighted. She asked for our support with these candidates. I reported her, but still, no one seems to think this is somehow wrong. If it were Hillary folks, it would have been an uproar. Thoughts, opinions? do you think I was right to report?
16 AnswersElections1 decade agoA question for Black Clinton supporters.?
I was watching Dan Abrams on MSNBC last night, and he was talking about Philly's Mayor Nutter (my mayor) and his intro on his Hillary ad. He say's something like " I know you're wondering why I'm supporting her..."
Dan said he thought it was strange that he would intro like that, and said it's like he was defending or explaining why he supported Clinton. I actually understand why Nutter said it in the intro. It's like if you are black and support Clinton, you have to explain or defend your choice. Do any other Black Clinton supporters feel the same way? What do you think about the ad, and Abrams' take on it?
I'm not trying to argue, or get into any heated debates. Just curious, because I only know a few fellow Clinton supporters that are black, here in Philly.
10 AnswersElections1 decade agoTired of giving gifts at weddings and bridal/baby showers and not getting anything in return?
I have been to baby showers, bridal showers, weddings, etc. Gift in hand and never complained. I have yet to have a wedding or a baby, but when I asked all my "friends" and family to go to my website (http://www.fundable.com/groupactions/groupaction.2... and donate as little as $10 to help me make my first independent film, out of hundreds, only a handful have donated. I'm confused. Am I to be expected to pay for gifts, to go showers etc, and not be upset that they haven't donated to something important to me? When they all know how much this means to me?
4 AnswersOther - Family & Relationships1 decade agoQuestion for Obama supporters, but Hillary supporters feel free to chime in.?
We already know that Obama supporters expect us Hillary supporters to get on board, and vote for him to secure a democratic presidency. But why is it too much to ask Obama supporters to do the same if by (slim) chance, Hillary is the democratic nominee? You bash us, insult us, and tell us why Obama is the only choice. You don't fear alienating us, if he isn't the nominee?
17 AnswersElections1 decade agoHelp!! How do I advance my own cause?
I have asked this question a few times, and tried some of the suggestions, but have not had much luck. I am trying to fundraise for my first independent film. I am currently using the site http://www.fundable.com/groupactions/groupaction.2... My question is, how do I ask people for money? I feel strange saying "hey I wanna make a movie, give me money" I want people to know it's legit. I even offer them a script to read. How would you respond if someone asked for money for something like this? Any advice would help.
1 AnswerOther - Family & Relationships1 decade agoHow can I ask for/solicit money?
I am trying to fundraise. I need to raise money to make my first independent film. I am using the website www.fundable.com and the set up was easy, but I've sent emails to over 30 people, friends, family etc... and the response has been slow. How can I ask for money and solicit for a cause that's important to me? I know that making a movie isn't something everyone's willing to open up their wallets for, but what can I do to increase what I raise? Help! Any advice will be helpful.
1 AnswerOther - Entertainment1 decade agofundraising ideas? fundraising/donation pages.?
I am an aspiring filmmaker, trying to raise money for my first indie film. What are some good fundraising ideas? Do you know of any online donation/fundraising pages? What are some good ways to solicit money? Any help would be useful?

I am trying to raise money to make my first indie film, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any websites that allowed you to create donation pages, or if anyone knew how to create a donation page? Any advice would be helpful.

13 AnswersElections1 decade agoTexas, Ohio, Vermont & Rhode Island... Obama has to stop saying he objected to the war.?
He wasn't in the Senate. And although I don't agree with Hillary's vote or many other democratic votes for the war, he wasn't there, he doesn't know how he would have voted with the information that was given to the senate. He needs to start talking about other issues. Texas, Vermont, Ohio, Rhode Island... tomorrow's the big day. What are your thoughts?
19 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhat about Vermont and Rhode Island on March 4th?
All the talk is about Texas and Ohio. I know they have more delegates, but what do the folks in Vermont and Rhode Island think. Obama or Clinton, and why?
