Hello, Jeff C here. I am a proud daddy of a great 8yr old son. Am also a foster parent of a great 4 year old little girl. My wife and I have been married for 11 years and going for 11 more +. I am a retail store manager for a very successful chain. I am a childrens book author my latest book is doing great. My hobbies include Boy Scouts with my son, Model Railroading, hiking, and everything Nascar. My son and I are big fans of the #43 Richard Petty Motorsports Dodge on the Sprint Cup circuit.

  • Should NASCAR start franchising?

This argument has surfaced more than once. What are your thoughts on NASCAR to start franchising? That is to say only 43 teams get a franchise; all guaranteed to start every week which may help teams recruit and keep sponsorship. No go or go home. No worries about manufacturers bailing out of the sport. Would this help or hurt the sport?

  • NASCAR TRIVIA! What year was Atlanta reconfigured?

Atlanta used to be a paper clip on steroids. But in the mid to late 90's Briton Smith had a plan to change Atlanta...he changed the front stretch to the back stretch and made the back stretch into a dog leg making Atlanta into a tri-oval. People thought he was crazy but it worked it made racing at Atlanta very fast and very exciting. So here's my question what year did this happen? And who was the first pole sitter who scorched the old Atlanta's track record and made NASCAR worry that the track would require restrictor plates? Who was the winner of the first race at the new Atlanta? Good luck and have fun with it!

  • NASCAR TRIVIA! Who was the last Cup driver to win....?

Who was the last Cup driver to win the first two races of the season?

And do you think Matt Kenseth can repeat that feat this year????

Do you think that the drivers who had a bad 500 will rebound this week or will we see a changing of the guard this season?

Good luck and have fun with the trivia!

  • Is it me Nascar Nation? Or is Kyle Petty very bitter?

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/news;_ylt=AkqV3BPIq...

If you read the link...this article is on Yahoo sports. Being a Petty fan for the past 30 years it's hard not seeing the Petty name driving in the 500 this weekend. BUT, it seems Kyle is very bitter and seems to have nothing good to say about the King, his new team, or any of it's drivers....which to me is understandable. But to me HONESTLY if he were in the #44 on Thursday (in which AJ drove his heart out to get into the 500) I don't think he would have qualified anyways. I think Kyle is better off retired and doing TV. Now, I am not bashing Kyle mind you but my dad has made me mad before but I never disrespected him in public. So here's my question......what do you think about Kyle's outlook? Do you agree Kyle should be put out to pasture or does he still deserve a ride in CUP?

  • Nascar Trivia! Can you name the first winners of the duels?

In 1959 when the 500 first began they only had ONE qualifying race.

In 1960 the format changed to two qualifying races called the Duels at Daytona. Can you name the first two winners of the duels in 1960?

Who are your picks to win this years races?

Mine are Johnson and Kyle Busch.

Good luck and have fun with it!

  • Nascar Nation? What do you think of the retro #44?

They have come up with a retro paint scheme for the #44 Valvoline Dodge for AJ. It's very similar to the paint scheme of Kyle Petty's ARCA car back in 79 when he won his very race that he entered.

So Valvoline and Petty have history winning together. So here's my question....what do you think of the retro paint scheme? Do you think Reed in the #43 or AJ in the #44 can return Valvoline to victory lane??

  • NASCAR TRIVIA! Do you know the answer to this?

In a certain Daytona 500 a driver found that communications can win or lose a race. You see, this driver was tearing up the field and looked as if he would win the race by a full complete lap. This was before radio communications so the pit crew held out a sign that said "P-1".

On his next time by the driver saw the sign and wondered to himself...

"P-1, What does that mean??? Guess they want me to pit in one lap."

So that's what he did....BUT the crew meant that he was in the lead..POSITION 1....FIRST PLACE...ETC ETC. When he pulled into the pits the crew yelled over the engines for him to get back out there.

But the damage was done his huge lead was erased and a new contender emerged. The new contender had the same "last name" or at least something similar to the previous leader. Let's just say the announcer over the PA system has a terrible time with tongue twisters has he was trying to announce the last lap. The new contender won the race by just a little bit....the previous leader was ridiculed and laughed at the rest of his career for the blunder.

So here's my question....what year did this happen? Who were the two contenders? Who finished first? Who finished 2nd?

Good luck and have fun with it!

  • NASCAR NATION? Does anyone remember the VRL?

A number of years ago...Miller Lite sponsored a web site called Miller Lite's Virtual Race League. On this website you could design your own car, hire a driver and crew chief, and name your team. You could collect codes to make your car stronger/team better from cases of Miller Lite and off the in car camera shots in Rusty's #2. So here's my question----Do you remember this? Did you participate? And was you any good. I never had much success....I don't drink so the only codes I could get were from Rusty's in car...which weren't as good codes as the cases. Would you like to see them bring them back? I know I sure would. Just an opinion as always.

  • NASCAR TRIVIA! Do you know who this driver is?

    Who am I?

One of my first cars in Cup was heated by a NATIVE AMERICAN stove. This replaced our earlier sponsor who kept us warm after drinking alot of. After the stove went out we went flying with a new sponsor...little did we know how far those wings would take us!

After Jaws left Junior I reunited with one of my earlier sponsors...they made me warm again. But the success just didn't come in this car.

I drove for the first car in racing....but this Olds was old and just wouldn't run. I didn't hang around and went to hang out in the Sun with the owner who gave me my big break. That break led to breakfast the next year. But the sponsor was stolen by a top CUP team...my owner was devastated when I went with the sponsor. I hung around for several years got a trophy or two....and settled down and drove my original car # again thanks to the King loaning it out. Now I am a journeyman in every sense of the word. All I have is my helmet and the desire to go racing. You gotta a car and need a driver??? Well, I am your man.....and if the stars align just right....I am guaranteed to get you in the field. Who am I?????

Good luck and have fun with it! Best answer goes to the person who answers the most clues.

  • Nascar Nation? Who do you think would be the biggest upset in this year's 500?

Ok, we all know or think who the favorites will be for the 500. But who do you think would cause the "biggest upset in NASCAR history" if they should pull into victory lane this year????

I would love to see someone like Kirk Shelmerdine or James Hylton pull it off...which I know is impossible....but that's the point of this question. 10 points to the most interesting answer.

  • Nascar Trivia! Can you name this driver?

I got my first career win with the Wood Brothers....but here's the kicker I wasn't driving the famed #21....it was another # then.

I created controversy by appearing on NASHVILLE NOW on TNN talking about something other than NASCAR. Let's just my dad wasn't very proud at the moment.

My best ride came in the form of a box of cuban cigars and the promise of a Mercedes if I could ever win a 500. We did get several

wins together but I never got the Mercedes.

After having enough of this joker I branched out and owned my own team for awhile and we did pretty "hot" on occassion.

But the finances weren't that great so I merged with another team way before it was "vogue" to merge.

I have great success and great tragedy in my life and career but all in all I think I always be remember for EVERY aspect my life NOT JUST the racing part.

This year there's not alot on my plate....but the summer could be quite "explosive" for me???

    Who am I???

Good luck and have fun with it.

Can you name the car #s and drivers? Good luck and have fun with it!

  • Nascar Trivia! What year did the Wood Bros win their first Daytona 500?

Marvin Panch was supposed to drive for the Woods this year...but he was injured in a practice crash at Daytona in a Maserati. The car burst into flames and Panch was injured and couldn't get out. An out of work driver just happened to be nearby and pulled Panch from the wreckage in the nick of time. Panch suggested his hero to replace him in the powerful #21 but Glen Wood said NO! He then hired another driver and painted his name on the door. Panch insisted and made this comment to the Wood Bros. "If you were in the lead late in the race, what would you rather see, this driver in your car or in your review mirror ready to pass you?" The Woods looked at each other smiled and put the hero in the car with his name not even painted on the car. Our hero went on to win the Daytona 500 in a cinderella story as Ford went on to sweep the top 5 of the 500. So here's my question what year did this happen? Who was our hero? And who's name appeared on the car as it rolled into victory lane? Good luck and have fun with it!

  • Nascar Trivia! Can you tell me when this happened?

This driver was clipped by Geoff Bodine on the 23rd lap of the Daytona 500. The car skidded down the backstretch flipped over on it's roof and slammed into the retaining dirt wall. But here's the kicker the car was repaired and sent back out! With rolls upon rolls of duct tape this team got their car back onto the track and finished the race 25th!!!!!

The car was missing it's hood and scratched and dented on all 4 sides.

But this car was tough.....manufacturer tough! Can you name the driver? The car #? What year did this happen? This car was a real star when it was placed into the Motorsports Hall of Fame in Alabama.

Good luck and have fun with it!!!

  • NASCAR TRIVIA! Can you name the back to back winners of the Daytona 500?

Ok gang, pretty easy question. Can you name the few drivers who have accomplished the feat of winning back to back Daytona 500's??

The years they accomplished it, the car #s??? Do you think Ryan Newman can join this exclusive club or is Stewart-Haas not capable of winning "out of the box"? Good luck and have fun with it!

  • Nascar Trivia! Can you name the first rookie 500 pole sitter?

Since my guess for this year's pole (in another question) is Scott Speed I thought I would ask this question. Do you know who the first rookie pole sitter for the Daytona 500 was? What year did it happen?

What car #/Sponsor/Team?? Good luck and have fun with it!

  • Nascar Trivia! Can you name the OTHER Ken Schrader?

Yes, you read correctly, there is/was another Ken Schrader in Nascar way before the current Ken burst onto the Cup scene in the late 80's.

This "Schrader" although pronounced the same spelled his name differently. So since my last few trivia questions have been accused of being too easy I thought I'd throw this one at you. Tell me what year this Ken drove. What car # and mfg was he "infamous" for campaigning in? And did he ever win or amount to anything in Cup??

OH, and how did he spell his version of "Schrader"? Good luck and have fun with it!

  • Nascar Nation? My son and I need your help?

Ok gang, most of you know me....and I only ask for help when I really need it. My son and I are about to start building our first ever Pinewood Derby car. I have tried to ask this question in other sections but it keeps assigning it to Horse Racing or Needlepoint Crafts???? So I am asking my fellow Nascar Nation for help. I need some tips/tricks to build a good car. I am pretty much useless when it comes to building things so it needs to be easy. We are not looking to blow the field away and we don't want to cheat. Just want to build a good car that can hold it's own. Does any one know of a website or books (Pinewood for Dummies????) that I could use to help me NOT to let my son down. As always I thank you for your support and help with this issue....it means alot. Thanks!

  • Nascar Nation? What do you think?

Jayski.com is reporting that Speed is going to reformat the "Trading Paint" show that starred John Roberts and Kyle Petty into a trivia style game show for fans still hosted by Roberts and Petty. So here's my question.....Do you think "Old Fart" and I (the two trivia buffs on this forum) would stand a chance? How 'bout it O.F. you up for a one on one no holds barred trivia contest between you and I? LOL!

Seriously what do you think about them changing the Trading Paint show which I really enjoyed into a game show of all things????
