Does anyone know where to find Cuban Rum in Miami?
Does anyone know of any liquor store where I could purchase Havana Club in Miami? I love Cuban Rum and I understand that you can't get it here however I was wondering what the possibilities were to find it being sold somewhere in Miami. Would be much appreciated.
1 AnswerMiami6 years agoReenlisting for Vilseck Germany?
Hey, I'm a 31 year old, E-4, intel, currently at Ft. Campbell. I've been in for over 2 years and am coming up on my reenlistment. I was offered Vilseck, Germany. I had some questions for anyone who has been to Vilseck. I'll be 32 when I go over to Germany and it will be my 3rd time living in Germany. I'm fluent in the language and still know some people over there. My questions pertain to age and just lifestyle. I'm 31, single, no wife, no kids, and will be living in the barracks. I didn't really have too much of a porblem finding friends at Ft. Campbell but I am mainly concerned with my age like if I will be isolated because of my age and rank? I know most people are still in their 20's and few are in their late 20's and early 30's at my level. Will it be a problem making friends over there? Also what is the single scene like, stupid question I know, but I am sort of going through a mid life crisis so to speak because I am still single, never married, and no kids. I'm just wondering if this will be the right move since I don't really want to be alone, I'm an extroverted person so I am pretty outgoing and would like to offer my fluency in the language and knowlege of the culture as something to offer people. I know opening up like this kind of makes me look like a sissy but I just wanted people's opinion on the issue before I make my final decision. I recently went through a bad heartbreak as well so I am looking for a fresh start as well.
3 AnswersMilitary7 years agoWhat is Vilseck, Germany like?
Hi, I'm 31, E-4, 35F, single, and in the Army. My reenlistment window just opened and I talked to retention back in the rear and one of the options was Vilseck, Germany. I used to live in Germany on and off, was an exchange student in the north for a year in high school and went to university in Heidelberg. So this won't be my first time in Germany. I wanted to know from folks who've been there what it was like and if there was a lot to do if you're military? One stigma I have is living in the barracks at an older age and also the fact that it is for 3 years so I will be 35 when I'm done over there. So I'm kind of wondering whether or not I want to stay here in the states to meet the right girl or go to Germany again where I run the chance of still being single. Also is the post pretty nice there? Is there a lot to do in the town?
2 AnswersMilitary7 years agoWhat should I do with $50,000?
So I am leaving deployment with $43,000 and will be receiving an additional $5-$7,000 a couple of months later. What should I do with all of this money? I'm 31, in the military, single, never married, and no expenses. Mustang is paid off, only bills are phone, cable, and internet. What should I do with all of this money? I don't really want to spend it and probably won't ned for anything like a marriage or anything since I am 31 and single. So any suggestions?
12 AnswersPersonal Finance7 years agoMail Theft in Afghanistan?
I'm currently forward in Afghanistan and we've had an ongoing problem with mail theft. One of our packages was stolen which contained some items signed by someone which was intended to be a morale booster for us. I've spoken with postal police and the military postal inspectors without any luck. I just think it's ridiculous that they will throw the book at someone for doing something so small yet when someone commits a federal crime absolutely nothing is done. It's gotten to the point where I've asked family and friends to stop sending care packages out of concern that the packages will be stolen.
4 AnswersMilitary7 years agoCell Phones on Deployment??
I'm set to deploy with the Army in a month to Afghanistan and had a question about cell phones. Does anyone have experience using cell phones over in Afghanistan??? How did you purchase them? Was it cheap? Could you text and use data? I checked with Sprint and unfortunately Afghanistan isn't included in their multi country pack and looking at the rates, 50 cents a text and $1.99 a minute, it doesn't look cheap. How do the plans over there work or is it just a pay as you go phone? For all the POG comments I'm likely to receive, yes I am a POG get over it. Thanks
5 AnswersMilitary7 years agoWhat's the name of this song?
I used to hear it when I worked at Macy's back in 2009-2011. It was a song and the artist sounded similar to Snow Patrol but I searched their songs and couldn't find it. The only part I remembered was a couple of times in the song the singer would sing "sommmmething toooo talk about." It sounded like rock but more alternative. Anyways if anyone could cure this earwork it'd be great!
2 AnswersLyrics8 years agohow safe is freight hopping?
Just wondering if anyone had any input. For example, do people still freight hop, like non psychopaths? Are the penalties strict if you get caught? Are there a lot of crazies who hop trains? Is it fun? Do you actually get to some cool places?
4 AnswersRail8 years agoCan my squad leader still call me back into work if I'm at WLC?
I'm currently in WLC and lately every time I come back to my barracks I see 3 texts from my squad leader telling me I have to come in and do work. I thought that being enrolled in WLC was my place of duty however I could be wrong. It's getting annoying getting released at 1800, having homework from WLC, and then getting called back into work. I tried googling a regulation that would prevent this however I haven't found anything. So would anyone know if squad leaders are allowed to do this? Call me back into work while at WLC even though it's my place of duty?
3 AnswersMilitary8 years agoCould really use some advice?
I'm a 30 year old male currently in the Army and I really need some advice on this issue. Being in the Army it's hard to really find quality women, those who are serving or have served really know what I'm talking about. Anyways over a month ago I met this incredible woman online. She was beautiful, was around the same age as me, knew nothing about the Army (like I said if you're in the Army or served you know what I'm talking about), we shared the same interests, and we just seemed to click. We talked and texted non stop for a week until we finally set up a date, even set one up for the following week. We met up down in Nashville where she lived and went on our date. It was amazing, no one dominated the conversation, there was never awkward silence, it just seemed perfect. We went back to her place, didn't hook up, and then I made the drive back up to where I live about 45 minutes away. All seemed perfect, we kissed good night, we laughed, she smiled, and everything. The next day I sent my usual good morning text which she always responded to and nothing. Then she wrote back and it just seemed weird, like she wasn't her self. Then she said she was going to take a nap and then she just vanished. I would send 1 or 2 texts a day and got nothing. I finally stopped contacting her all together. This was almost a month ago and I still feel a huge amount of heart ache. I've really been down and beating myself up, started smoking again, and just don't feel like the confident guy I was. I mean she was everything I looked for in a woman and I waited my whole life for someone like her to come along. Basically how do I let go of all of this and get back to my normal self again? I feel really jaded and resentful towards other couples and love in general as a result. I feel that life really cheated me on this one and just screwed over. I'm 30 years old, my time is running out to start a family. I feel as if she was the one and I somehow blew my chance and that no one like her will ever come my way. Anyone have any advice for my messed up situation?
8 AnswersMarriage & Divorce8 years agoanyone ever been to FOB Fenty?
Yes I've utilized Google however I would like to hear from people personally who were at FOB Fenty. What are the facilities like on the FOB? PX? DFAC? Etc. Any hints or tips I should be aware of? I heard to lock up all your stuff because transients will **** your **** up. Also given that we will probably be the last deployment over there will they shut down all facilities mid way through our tour? Also what's the city of Jalalabad like? Even though I probably will not be going there because of my MOS. Thanks!
5 AnswersMilitary8 years agoHow tough is the brigade PT Test for WLC?
I'm currently here at Fort Campbell and about to enter WLC. I've successfully completed the battalion PT Test for WLC two weeks ago and exceeded the minimum standard. I took another record APFT this morning and did better than the battalion one two weeks ago. Afterwards 1SG pulled me aside and told me flat out that I was going to fail the brigade one. Which has got me wondering, how particular are they when it comes to grading the brigade PT Test for WLC? I'm 30 years old because I joined the Army a year and a half ago and had to lose a lot of weight to join. Therefore when I do my push ups I literally have my chest touch the ground. Anyone have any advice who's been through a brigade PT Test for WLC? To give you an idea I scored 230 two weeks ago and 234 today. Thank you.
4 AnswersMilitary8 years agodoes she like me after the first date?
Met a really amazing girl. We texted for 3 days and talked to each other before we finally met up for a first date. Wasn't nervous at all for the most part because I felt that we connected even before the date. Felt that we always had something to talk about. Went back to her place and talked some more and did some kissing. She offered to let me sleep on her sofa but I wanted to drive back home instead, and no I wasn't looking for sex or to hook up. If I just wanted sex I would have looked somewhere else. Anyways today she texted a little, didn't talk about last night but she was pretty tired and took a nap. How do I know she is still into to me and still likes me? Also what should I not do to turn her off or come off as being too clingy or obsessed? She is a really amazing girl and I really like her
3 AnswersSingles & Dating8 years agoAre all Army wives tag chasers?
Before you label me as a troll, let me explain to you the reason behind my question. I've only been in the Army for over a year now and enlisted when I was 28. Since I'm older than many of the younger lower enlisted, I'm a bit more cautious and observant. I live on Fort Campbell where a lot of the women in the surrounding areas are looking for a soldier to sink their teeth into. Eventually after they get married, sometimes by contract, they end up divorcing or cheating while their husbands are deployed. Unfortunately this is the reason why I choose to remain single in the Army since these are the only females I have experienced. Observing how Army wives look brings me to my question are all Army wives tag chasers? Because many of them don't work, only went after military men, and look a lot different than civilian wives. I'm from an area where a lot of women are professionals who've started careers of their own. Their last thought would be to marry a soldier who they would rarely get to see, have to relocate every 3 years, and restart their career. Why is it that many Army wives don't work? Also why do they claim to have "the hardest job in the world," when they don't even work?
6 AnswersMilitary8 years agoRealistically if I stay in the Army for another 19 years at 30...?
I'm currently a 30 year old SPC and a 35F intelligence analyst. What rank could I expect to retire at on the enlisted side of the fence? I know a lot of this is MOS dependent and since I'm a 35F I don't think there are too many 35F 1SG unless it's a TRADOC unit at AIT or something. Anyways if I stayed in for another 19 and retired what rank could I expect to retire at with this MOS? I love it a lot so far, yeah I'm a pog get over it I've heard the jokes a million times already. Ultimately I would like to go the WO route but if that doesn't work out I would have to stay enlisted, not that it's a bad thing or anything.
3 AnswersMilitary8 years agoAm I going to be single forever?
Alright so here's the deal and why I'm so confused as to why I feel cursed. I just turned 30 years old, I'm in the Army, in pretty decent shape, and have been single so long it feels like a curse. I've tried online dating, hasn't worked. I've tried activities I enjoyed, hasn't worked. You name it I've tried it but for some reason I still stay single. I just feel as if the boat has passed and my time to even get married or start a family is gone. I know this sounds whiny and feeling sorry for myself and as a guy it is tough. When I'm by myself I can't help but just get frustrated and down about being what feels like the only single guy left out there. I mean I have a lot to offer and feel confident about myself but it's been so dry in the love department it's like a dessert. Should I just cut my losses and just give up or is there a fraction of a percent of hope left out there?
