A friend of mine lives in San Fran. I live in Atlanta. I see a star I want him to see, if I give him the assention and declanation of the star that I see, can he use those same numbers, and find the same star? Are cordinates the same no matter where you are?

  • A star or planet?

Last night around 9:00 EST on the East Coast of the USA I saw a very bright object. It was about about 12 degrees above the left cresent side of the moon. Maybe 30 degrees off the horizon. It's magnatude was outstanding. Brighter then I have seen in a great time. If I had to guess I would say maybe a -2 or more. It was much brighter then any star in the sky last night. I did not have a compass so I could not know the direction it was, I also did not have a sextant to measure the size. But if you looked up last night, around 9:00 you would have seen it no doubt. Anybody have any ideas as to what it might be?

    Thanks

  • Atheist = Agnostic?

I see many questions directed atheists. Now when people post these questions is it to both? I am agnostic, are the questions that list only atheist meant to be for both?

    Thank you.

  • c.u.m. hoc ergo propter hoc.?

I was disguessing a logical fallicy with a another person on here and I wrote that. The first word was edited out. I know that we are only allowed to speak English. But it is a Latin phrase, pretty normal in law and logic. Why would yahoo answers care that I am using a logical argument, and in just that one word?

  • The Big crunch part 3?

Could there be, a black hole, created from a star millions of solar masses. This black whole would be near another star of equal mass, after time a second black hole that would meet up with the first. Could the gravational force of such a meeting pull in more and more black holes and nutron stars to the point where the universe would colapse on those. Thus a big crunch, but not from the mass of the universe being large enough?

  • Explain the power of explosions please.?

I don't understand the power of different boms. If a M-80 fire cracker will blow up the 3 on the thirty yard line, a granade will blow up how much. What is the radios of damage. What about a tank round, and a 75 mm, and a WW2 88, what about a 100 pound bomb, a 1000 pound bomb. An atomic bomb. I don't understand how much damage each will do. Please include information about the rockes the Hezbollah are using. (The old Russian Stallin Organs I think they are.) Thank you.
