  • Is LINK (Liberty in North Korea) a reputable charity?

Does anyone know anything about this charity? Please provide links to reputable 3rd-party sites, since I'm having trouble finding independent, thorough ratings of this charity. It sounds really good, but I would like to check up on it first. Sorry if this is the wrong category for this, but it's what Yahoo suggested. Thanks for any help.

  • Toes turn purple in winter?

Every winter, my toes turn purple. When my toes get even a little cold, they turn absolutely white, then slowly slowly slowly the white shrinks and they turn purple. If my toes are feeling fine in my socks and I take the socks off, they will be bright pink and a little while after taking the socks off (like a minute) the toes will have turned purple. They hurt and turn bright pink when I step into the shower. This occurs all winter, starting from August to right about now and lasting until May or even June. Also, at different times--not all the time--some of the toes will be bright pink in a part of them, like everywhere on the toe from the last joint to the tip of the toe, with a very abrupt color change. When it's like that, it kind of has a little blister-ish thing on it, and it hurts if it's touched at all. This has been happening for five years now. The first year, it was only on one toe, and only for maybe two or three months. Next year and the year after that, I played a fall and spring sport for the first time, and it started in August and went until June, and it was on all the toes. However, last year I did not play a spring or fall sport, and it only got as bad as usual in December--though it started up a month or two before that--and I was pretty much good by mid-May. Now it has started again for this year. I have googled this, and it sort of, but not quite, fits multiple things such as chilblains and reynaud's syndrome. Does anyone else have this, and do they have any ideas of how to get rid of them? They are annoying more than anything, because I never ever wore anything on my feet indoors until the first year of this, and now I have to wear socks, and it makes my feet hot and cold and damp all at the same time to wear socks. I don't have any pre-existing conditions except eczema, if that counts. Sorry for this long question, but I wanted to be detailed.

  • My dog was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism?

My dog was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism. She is a 4-year-old purebred, spayed yellow labrador retriever. What might have caused this? Will it ever improve? How much would the medication cost, ballpark? What does the medication do; I mean, what would happen without it that it will be able to prevent, and what will it not be able to fix? Would the medication have any side effects that I should worry about? I'm asking this because she had blood work done and the vet's secretary called us and told us, and she doesn't know the answers to these questions! Does anyone know about this?

  • Where can I find good free, safe, legal Christian/Catholic music downloads?

I was wondering if anyone knew some sites where good Christian/Catholic music is legally and safely available for free download in MP3 or WMA format. No, I am not a miser who won't pay, and, no, I don't want the artists to lose money, but I'm not allowed to buy things online. Thanks for your help!

  • External parasites on a kitten; what are they and how do I treat them?

My 8-week-old kitten has external parasites that are probably around four millimeters long and a millimeter wide. They are brown, and move quickly away if I part the hair. They do not jump; they move more like a beetle. Please tell me what these are and how to treat them.

  • I want to know how to find kittens after their mother moves them.?

My queen (female cat) has moved her kittens, who don't even have their eyes open yet. The thing is, they are now outside, and we have a thriving coyote population. Basically, I need to find them before night falls. If I leave Vivy (the queen) outside, she will be eaten. And I do mean this. It has so far happened to 13 cats on this farm. If I don't, the kittens will freeze. It's supposed to get cold tonight. Seriously, please help!

  • I'm looking for information on a volcano called Toba.?

I know it's extinct. Any information would be good, but specifically location, date of last eruption, any other significant eruptions (and their date, type, and description), the type of cone it had, what sort of plate tectonics caused this volcano, and the area surrounding the volcano today. What is the population like? How does this volcano influence the lives of the residents? Thanks for your help, and any information at all would be helpful!

Please add sources of where you got this, but preferably .govs, .orgs, world book online, magazine archives, etc. Absolutely not wikipedia. I need to know to put in a report, and I've been searching for hours, and I can't find a reputable source that tells the most important issue/issues!!! Anyway, I actually don't really need answers, just sources to use. Thanks!

  • Guard dog that's good with cats?

I live in an area that recently has become home to a lot of coyotes. I am in the country, and own some goats, chickens, and cats. I already have a yellow lab, who has kept the coyotes about 100 yards away from our house by barking almost constantly and sometimes chasing the coyotes. I am looking for another dog that would be good at keeping coyotes away, whether by barking or otherwise, but still be kind to humans, cats, chickens, goats, and my other dog. Are there any breeds, genders, or characteristics in mixed-breeds to look for in particular? Thanks for the help!
