For conservatives, who do think will be the nominee for president?
I just want to take a poll to see what you cons think. I am not going to go off and talk trash unless you start it first, I just want to know who you guys think will win.
Rick Perry seems to be the front runner.
11 AnswersPolitics10 years agoTax cuts and pro-business legislation debate?
Does anyone want to debate? First come first serve. No name calling of any kind.
7 AnswersPolitics10 years agoConservatives would you agree to a bill that outlaws the outsourcing of jobs?
We have lost millions of jobs overseas. This a serious problem. It doesn't matter what party you are this is a no brainier. It has to stop. Why don't both sides unite to stop it? Liberals are for stopping the outsourcing of jobs. Can we at least agree on this?
Government would have to establish a regulatory agency to enforce the law, we can't just say no outsourcing and not enforce it, that will do no good. A law can be passed, but it needs to be enforced.
By the way the bill would include no new taxes or anything like that, it would just stop businesses from outsourcing jobs to other countries.
Please no name calling or anything. I just want to take a poll to see if you guys will agree.
24 AnswersPolitics10 years agoWhy is the education system called socialist by conservatives?
When it teaches us facts and the truth. Just because facts, history, and reality don't agree with your ideology doesn't mean that they are wrong. So is anything that disagrees with the conservative ideology socialist or wrong because it disagrees with them, even when it provides facts that back up its argument?
So is everything that doesn't agree with conservatism wrong or socialist even when it is a fact or is recorded in history as a fact?
24 AnswersPolitics10 years agoWhy are people so clueless that they think that deregulation is good?
It was one of the leading causes of the Great Depression. It started the chain reaction that made the dominoes fall. Hoover, regulated after the economy went bad. Bush at first deregulated and didn't decide to regulate till later. Clinton deregulated, Reagan deregulated, and Bush deregulated.
Regulation can at times prevent an economic crisis, but once the crisis hits it can't just magically solve everything, although regulation can stop things from getting worse.
Free market capitalism doesn't work.
By the way, I will respond to your answer so don't leave the page.

4 AnswersGovernment10 years agoIs everything that disagrees with the conservative ideology 'liberal" or have a liberal bias?
They keep saying this is liberal and that is liberal, when we point out facts and sources. They even call PBS liberal, last time i watched it, they gave equal voice to a con and lib they didn't even judge either of them. It just so happens that Krugman is on PBS, not because he is liberal, but because he is a noble prize winning economist. The experts on PBS just say facts. Even the conservative columnist for the NY times has facts and seems smart.
So why do conservatives still consider everything that doesn't say they are correct, liberal and there fore they say the source is wrong, even though they have experts and facts to back up their criticisms of of republicans.
So is everything that disagrees with the conservative ideology is liberal and therefore is incorrect in their eyes?
But, yes MSNBC is liberal and is bias, but what I am talking about are sources with less bias like PBS and RT, that use facts to back up their argument.
7 AnswersPolitics10 years agoWhy do cons keep thinking that FDR made the depression worse when he actually made things better?
He lengthened it by taking us of the gold standard and at one time the congress was republican controlled, they took away his spending and unemployment rose up. Look at the facts his social programs created millions of jobs. He helped us to survive the depression, but WW2 ended it.
You can pay so kind of economist to write an article about how they hate FDR, when in reality the education system of the US and the AP education system prove otherwise.

9 AnswersGovernment10 years agoDo any conservatives want to debate?
First come first serve. Pick what subject you want to debate.
14 AnswersPolitics10 years agoWhy don't cons get that regulation is good?
First, of all de-regulation helped to cause the Great Depression and Great Recession. Hoover, was all for free market capitalism and he de-regulated at first, but then when we got into a depression he began regulating, but it was TOO LATE. Also, Coolidge de-regulated the economy before Hoover. Yes, Hoover regulated, but only after he de-regulated things in the beginning of his presidency and when everything was messed up did he begin to regulate the economy. Same with Bush, Bush believed in the "Ownership society" and small and uninvolved government. He de-regulated in the beginning, but when things got bad then did he decide to regulate the economy. Yes, the democrats didn't pass the bill, I have no idea why, I don't know much about the bill and the democrats reasons for not passing it. However, I do know the importance of regulation and banks regulating themselves doesn't count because they just won't regulate themselves. Allen Greenspan even said that industries can't regulate themselves, they just won't regulate themselves. By, the way we survived the Depression under FDR because of deficit spending, Hoover didn't do deficit spending and if he did it wasn't big enough spending to get us relief or to have an effect. FDR provided relief, but WW2 got us out of the Depression. Yes he lengthened the Depression, but not because of spending. It was lengthened because he took us of the Gold Standard. He later realized that and put the US back on the Gold Standard.
Also, Clinton is a fool. He de-regulated severely and repealed the Glass-Stegal Act. He is almost just as responsible for this crisis as Bush is. Bush could have fixed Clinton's mistakes, but he didn't. Clinton helped to cause our economic mess. Clinton much like Reagan, Bush, Coolidge, and Hoover, de-regulated the economy.
Regulations wouldn't exactly get us out of a recession. However, they can prevent things from getting worse. They can set up rules that companies must follow. Right now the regulations Congress passed were watered down and as a result only 38 rules are put into effect instead of the 400 in the original bill.
Think of regulation as a vaccine, we get a vaccine to prevent diseases from happening. In other words you don't decide to get a vaccine for Polio when the disease has already hit you, that wouldn't help you, since you are already sick. That is how regulations work, they can prevent an economic crisis, but regulations alone won't solve an economic crisis there must be other things like deficit spending. Hoover learned that the hard way, he regulated the economy when everything came crashing down, but it was too late then.

12 AnswersPolitics10 years agoWhy do conservatives disregard historical facts?
Debate me if you want to prove me wrong.
25 AnswersPolitics10 years agoIf you look at facts and history, would you say that the US is in a sense, fascist?
First, of all the foreign policy is very similar. Go out and conquer or in our case colonize. Imperialism and racism were a huge driving factor towards expansion of the US. Imperialism may be unavoidable at times because any country with power would want to flex its muscle, but we could still try not colonize. The US is just like Germany and Italy with the colonization.
Also, the US hates communism. That is one of the most important aspects of fascism is the dislike and grudge towards communism. Just look at the Red Scare and what happened during the Cold War. By the way I don't care about your opinions about communism, its a utopian ideology that won't work.
Also, the US has an economic policy that is in a way has socialism. Socialism is great, but the US didn't go to the extent that Germany went. But, if you notice that fascism, unlike communism, helps the rich in some regard. Also, it supports the free market and private property, similar to the Mussolini type of fascism not Hitler's type of fascism. The US is all about private property. Supporting corporations to the fullest.
Militarism is one of the most important parts of fascism. The US is heavily militarized by having the world's largest army and doing a ton of military spending.
Not to mention that the US committed a genocide against Native Americans that probably killed even more people then Hitler. The US also has people who think that they are the superior people. Hey, the Nazis put their arms out to symbolize national pride, the US chants "USA, USA, USA." There is always national pride, but the a lot of people in the US say that the US is the superior nation and is the best. Not to mention the US has the KKK.
Also, just like Nazi Germany there is a heavy amount of propaganda that they use on the public. Just look at Fox News and some of the other news stations. I mean they have a lot of people who are brainwashed from propaganda.
I don't mean to label the US as a bad place. Because it is a shade of grey, if we see the world in black and white, good and evil, then you would be ignorant. The US is definitely a shade of grey. We have done some bad things and good things. The US is a decent country, but the similarities can't be overlooked simply.
I want to hear your opinion on this. I am basing this of historical facts. There are some very interesting similarities between the US and the fascist countries both Italy and Germany.
What do you think?
By the way for all the uneducated people who will go about calling names. If you want to prove me wrong so much because you are a real patriot, then state some facts. Don't just state your opinion without evidence.
12 AnswersPolitics10 years agoWhy do conservatives think that over-regulation kills business and jobs?
Every president after FDR and including FDR regulated the economy up until Reagan. Even Ford and Nixon didn't de-regulate. Bush de-regulated look what happened to jobs and how bad our economy got. How can you possibly say it kills business when it actually helps business?
Are you people just SHEEP believing everything that the puppets of the corporations say?
Experts, documentaries, and history show that when the economy is regulated that is when it does the best.
15 AnswersPolitics10 years agoDoesn't Ron Paul remind you of Thomas Jefferson?
I have respect for the guy, but I strongly disagree with. But, he should get some praise for not being a puppet of the corporations, I think he means well, but I still disagree with his policies on the economy and small government.
But, aren't there similarities between the two. Both believe in scaling back government and trying to help the people. Both believe in similar foreign policies. Both believe in cutting budgets. Jefferson cut the military budget and some others. Can anyone else see the similarities?
I only respect him because he sticks to his guns and isn't a puppet of the corporations like Perry is. I also agree with his approach to foreign policy.
He seems to be a true republican not a puppet of the rich. Although I wouldn't vote for him and I don't agree with some of his policies, I still respect him. What do you think? Does Ron Paul remind you of Jefferson?
Try avoiding the name calling and try to have an actual discussion.
6 AnswersGovernment10 years agoWhat do you think about Ron Paul?
First of all he is a very interesting candidate. He seems to be conservative when it comes to the economy and somewhat liberal on other issues. He is no Eisenhower. He supports getting rid of taxes, but not because he wants to help big business. I think in a sense he actually cares about the people of the US. He seems to be right when it comes to foreign policy and I agree with his stances with many of the foreign policy issues like stopping the embargo of Cuba and cutting the military spending.
I like his stance on foreign policy, but don't like his stance when it comes to the role of government and his stance on the economy. Yes, i agree thee are problems with government. But, no we shouldn't get id of government all together. For example, you wouldn't just get rid of the whole car if there is a problem with the transmission. You would just fix the problem. I believe that we need to fix the government and not just do away with it. So I disagree with him there. Also, as for the tax issue, history has proven that taxes help the economy. We should only raise taxes on the high middle class and big business, not small business and the rest of the middle class. That is just my view.
But, I like his stance on foreign policy and some other issues outside the economy and government's role. To me he seems like a true republican or conservative. I would say that the president he is most similar to is Thomas Jefferson. He seems to actually care about the common man instead of caring only about corporations and the rich like other republicans do. He is a real conservative and I applaud him for sticking to his guns especially when it came to issues like the Patriot Act or the wars in the middle east.
I don't like that the media doesn't give him the respect he deserves or that they don't think he is a serious candidate. The media should give Ron Paul more credit. I don't get why some conservatives don't even acknowledge him when his is a true conservative and is a true republican much like Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson's beliefs were very conservative. Jefferson was trying to help the common man, Ron Paul seems to be tying to do the same.
What do you think?
By the way. I want to have a serious discussion and not have to listen to the name calling or political bickering.
By the way I am a socialist not a conservative or a troll. I just want to know people's opinions about Ron Paul. To me he is a very interesting candidate, who has a real shot at being the president. Even though I disagree with him on some issues especially the economy or the size of government, I respect him.
Again, What do you think?
12 AnswersPolitics10 years agoWhy do people keep saying socialism in Europe is failing when it clearly isn't?
It seems to work for Germany, Sweden, Britain, France, Norway, ect. The socialist countries have good healthcare, good not great. Their systems are better then the health care in the US. The European countries that have socialism seem to do well economically especially Germany and Britain. They regulate the economy and people pay taxes.
But still if socialism didn't work or hasn't worked, then why don't they just get rid of it? If it doesn't work they would have already done away with socialism. Socialism in Europe seems to be around since the end of WW2, I am guessing this because the socialist Clement Atlee took over during the end of WW2. He was named the best prime minister of the 20th century according to wikipedia. Probably because unemployment under Atlee never went above 3% and he created socialist health care, welfare, and government was involved economically. I remember the people in Europe, Canada, and Australia praising socialism and saying the people couldn't live without socialist programs.
Why do people keep saying it doesn't work? Just look at Germany and Britain. Yes they mixed socialism and capitalism, but they have socialism involved. Just look how China mixes socialism and capitalism. It works for all of them.
Don't say that it failed or that socialism isn't working because I watched BBC and RT and they seem to be telling quite the opposite.
The labor party in Britain is still doing quite well in parliament and the same with France, although right now conservatives or right wingers seem to control the parliaments.
If the right wingers are in control and if socialism has failed the countries then why don't they get rid of it? I am pretty sure they would love to get rid of it, but they don't even touch the socialist programs because socialism actually works. If it was such a problem then they would just do away with it but they don't.
That is because European style socialism like Britain's and Germany's works.
16 AnswersPolitics10 years agoAre there any Eisenhower type republicans left or are they all gone?
In my opinion, Eisenhower is tied for the spot of the greatest president of all time with FDR. No I am not being sarcastic. Yes this is a liberal saying this. He was a genius. He regulated the economy, taxed the rich with a rate of something like 90%, balanced budgets, kept the inflation rate down, and under his presidency the economy prospered. If we had someone like Eisenhower, I guarantee that we will not be in any type of recession because he would regulate the economy and have government help the people. He kept the inflation rate at near zero. He even expanded social security benefits to more workers. The recessions under Eisenhower had little impact because of government willing to be involved in the economy. Economic growth took place under Eisenhower and government helped the economy to grow.
So are there any republicans at all that are like Eisenhower?
I don't want to hear political arguing or name calling. I seriously want my question to be answered.
3 AnswersOther - Politics & Government10 years agoCan the president use the executive order to raise taxes on the rich?

3 AnswersGovernment10 years agoWhy do cons keep arguing that the education system is indoctrinating students?
Don't be mad because the smartest people in the US are liberal. Just because they are smart and support the liberal ideology that doesn't mean they are brainwashed. For all I know you cons can be brainwashed by Fox News. In history class, the books say what is right because they take into account multiple view accounts of history. The fact that they don't agree with the con ideology doesn't mean they are wrong? Honestly, what the hell is wrong with you?
I know that not all liberals are smart. But, that excuse of indoctrination is just BS. Don't you think that perhaps you people are wrong? Just because it doesn't agree with you doesn't make it wrong? What makes it wrong is when facts, statistics, and history prove it is wrong.
Yes my teacher is liberal, but he backed his opinion with REAL historical facts. The same facts that were in the AP text book. The same facts that are numerous websites. The same facts that are on documentaries. The same facts the experts acknowledge to be true.
Just because history shows conservativism failed that doesn't mean we should re-write textbooks and FACTS, to say that conservatives didn't fail. Also, mostly everyone who is educated is liberal because they studied history and ACTUAL historical facts. They are liberal because they are EDUCATED. People who are smart are educated people and the educated community. If you aren't educated MOST of the time you aren't smart?
The liberal states are mostly at the top. The conservative states are mostly at the bottom. Not all liberal states have good education systems, but mostly he ones at the top are liberal.
4 AnswersOther - Politics & Government10 years agoWhy don't we get rid of the news stations that are really biased?
There will be some form of bias. But, as long as there are facts and evidence to support it then the people may have a logical argument. But, when we have stations like Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN, it is ridiculous how biased they are. They make up statistics and state their OPINIONS. They are poisoning the minds of the American people with their BS. We need unbiased news and people should be educated enough to see what is true and false. I really hate the hypocritical idiots on Fox News, but CNN and MSNBC are no better, they are just as bad. So lets just get rid of them all together.
You may argue the 1st Amendment. I will argue it as well and say that the 1st amendment says we have the freedom of speech, but LYING is not freedom of speech. That is what those networks do, all three of them LIE. Do you agree?
