  • it's stupid, but I would like to know about how the picture's of jesus's face came to be?

by asking this I don't intend to in anyway offend christians or christianity. it's just that after seeing so many pictures and videos about Jesus's "face", I just wanted to know how it came into existence? like is the picture we have of jesus in the west authentic? was this drawn by people who met and saw jesus in person like back in year 0? or are these pictures just images based on some random people's impression of how jesus should or would look like, and if so whom? That's all, just wanted to know that!
