  • Will ESL schools allow your spouse to accompany you abroad?

I want to teach ESL in Korea or Asia. Will the school allow my wife to come along? What information do you have on this subject? Please only respond if you are currently teaching or previously taught ESL and know for a fact which schools allow spouses to travel with the teacher.

  • Can a relationship survive a girlfriend hating your family?

My girlfriend has told me she will never visit my family that lives about 1300 miles away (in the northeast) because that part of the country is too full of a@#holes. My GF and nuclear family had a bad first meeting and my sister insulted her, so I understand how hard it may be for her. But, I have a huge extended Italian family that I love and am proud of, and would love to show off our relationship to them. We have dated for over 2 years and her opinion does not seem to be changing. We may have recently come to a tenuous agreement that I am allowed to visit, but she will never go with me. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to give her the choice to make an effort to meet my family? How long should I wait to ask her to go up north? Should I never ask, and just let her come around on her own?

  • My girlfriend doesn't want me to talk to my family...?

My family flew from far away to visit me and my girlfriend's family. There was some rude comments made toward my girlfriend and some hurt feelings on my family's side because she wanted nothing to do with them afterward. Since then, my girlfriend has continued to complain vehemently that I have a relationship with my family who drink heavily (as I am a recovering alcoholic) and people who would hurt her feelings. I'm confused because my family has never hurt anyone's feelings before and they've never not liked someone I've been dating (including my present GF). My family is very open and they are opinionated but they have told me several times how much they like my GF. How do I fix a situation that requires me to either have no family connection or no girlfriend?

  • Breaking my apartment lease in Austin, Texas?

My landlord sent me a letter on 2/18 saying it was time to renew my lease that was over on 3/31. I went and found a new apartment and paid the new deposit. A few days later (within the 30 day mark) I had the landlord sign and date a letter that stated that I was moving out. When I returned home that day, there was a letter on my door that said my signed lease was not up until June 2009. I have paperwork that has the assistant managers initials next to the move out date termination paperwork and the general managers signature on my intent to move. Yet, they will not agree to the move out date because of the signed lease contract; they want to have me sublease the apartment (making me liable for the new tenant I presume). Do I have any problems with this situation?
