Can someone text u without seeing his phone number?and how

My ex brock up with me .. so i decided to apply no contact straight away.
After 3 weeks of break up he txtd once to wish me nice weeknd and of course i did not reply.since then he didnt try to contact me.but one week ago he called me once on whatsapp i szw his missed call after i wock up.and i noticed that he blocked me too.i dont know why he blocked me .
My question is why he did so?!shall i call him back or text him?or continue with the no contact rule? pls need ur advice.thx

Ive been in no contact with my ex since 4 month he brock up with me after one year so when he decided to leave me i stoped talking to him and decided to use no contact rule staight away. Now since 4 months no text no call at all from my side
he texted me once to wish me happy weekend after 3 weeks of no contact and i didnt reply and since then he didnt text .. one week ago he called me once in whatsapp while sleeping.when i wock up i saw his missed call and i was blocked i was surprised becauz since we brock up he never bllock me in whatsapp . Just after this missed call he blocked i was so surprised? So strange..? Can u guys help me here and answer me why he did that?
