  • Sinus tumor symptoms?

Have been having...nausea, headache, panic attacks while driving, dizziness, ear infections, ear pain and pressure, sinus infections and now blocked sinuses on nasal xray. Being sent for a CT, but the doctor won't say why. I really need to know because I just took a new job and am supposed to move in 2 weeks. I don't have time to wait for a CT!

  • If P=F/A, In a mercury barometer, why isn't the height of the column of mercury?

If P=F/A, In a mercury barometer, why isn't the height of the column of mercury dependent on the diameter of the dish at the base of the glass tube, or on the diameter of the tube itself?

  • State Bureau of Investigation Forensic Science position. Can I qualify?

Hi. I have a degree in a scientific field. I meet the qualifications for an opening in a forensic science crime lab in my state. The job says specifically "special agent-forensic scientist" if that matters. My question is whether there is a weight requirement for the job. I am about 20 pounds overweight, but otherwise in good health. Would I be able to pass the physical exam if I am overweight? It just says a physical exam by a doctor is required.

  • How to get a job in programming?

Hi. I am trying to obtain a first position as a programmer. I used C, mysql, linux shell scripting, etc in my graduate coursework, (computational chemistry) and I have been trying to obtain a programming position. I don't want to go back to school to get a programming degree if I don't have to do that. I previously held a CCNA and have taken a computer upgrading/repairing course (like A+), but I still can't get a job in this field.

The question is; Does anyone think I would be able to obtain a position as a programmer if I took a series of continuing ed courses (available online) through our local community college. I was considering taking Java 1, Java 2, MySql 1, MySql 2, and maybe one more. What do you think? Would it substitute for an associate's degree since I already have some degrees in a similar field anyway? I can't get a job in my field and I can't get a job in programming without actual programming experience.

  • My sister has an abdominal infection after surgery. MRSA?

I think it might be MRSA. She went home after abdominal surgery, then started running 103 fever and is now back in the hospital with drain tubes, packing, IV antibiotics, etc. If the infection is actually MRSA, what do you think her prognosis is with an abdominal infection requiring hospitalization?

  • IT career changer. Can certifications help?

Hi everyone. I have extensive background in chemistry, but found myself needing to stay home with my kids for a while. Due to that, I have never held a "real" job. I have always been the "go to" person for computer repair, etc. I have experience in my graduate program working with Linux, shell scripting, remote access, system design and administration, database installation and management, etc. I have previously held a CCNA (about 10 years ago). Unfortunately, since my work in chemistry was computational, I cannot get a job in chemistry. Since my computational work was in chemistry, I cannot get a job in IT, even though I am more suited to this field. I am at a loss. Will getting some up to date certifications help me get a job, and if so, which ones should I start with? (A+, Java, MCSE, CCNA, Network+ etc. I have done some of all of this.)

  • Is getting Dental Implants painful?

My mother is getting dental implants, and she is wondering how much pain she could expect during and afterward. Is it really painful and how bad is the recovery?

  • Why do people ask Y!A for help with their sick pets?

Your pet is sick and possibly dying. Instead of rushing it to the vet, you are sitting at the computer in Yahoo Answers. My cat hasn't moved or eaten anything in 3 days. What do you think? Are you serious? Either take it to the vet or don't be surprised when it's dead. Really people.

  • Package held up in customs.?

I ordered a phone from China Nov. 17, 2010. This phone had no logo branding or anything, but does resemble a smart phone. It shipped Nov 22, 2010, and tracking stopped Nov. 23, 2010. Nothing since. It is now Dec. 22, 2010. Does this mean it was just held up in customs or confiscated?

  • Did my item get seized by customs?

I ordered a cell phone, i684G, from a chinese dealer. The item shipped Nov 22, 2010, and was last updated Nov 23, 2010. Today is Dec 15, 2010. Does updating during shipping normally take this long? How do I know if the package has been seized? This phone has no markings which could indicate that it is a clone of a name brand. I am not trying to buy a phone with illegal logos on it or anything.
