At what age is it unreasonable to expect a black belt candidate or any other person going for rank to be able to do jump kicks----especially tornado, split, and V kicks.

This question is especially for those who don't think the teacher should have thrown the student. What could the teacher have done to subdue her in a manner that everyone would consider to be safe?

Pretend that I am a young man. Explain to me why I should not worry about looking weak or wimpy because I decide to back down from or avoid a fight.

What if my girlfriend or wife thinks that I should fight?

What if my friends or family think that I should fight?

What if my dad says I should fight? Or my mom?

This guy in this film is not using that much hip rotation. I don't see his belt move much. In some spots he is stomping. Maybe even using his shoulders. He even looks like he bobs up and down in one spot. Is his technique ok?

If you got to brown belt in a martial art, why did you quit then instead of going all the way to at least a 1st degree black belt?

Which is better, for a life-long martial artist? What are the pros and cons of each path? Or is there truly no "best" path?

a) Become a pro full contact fighter of MMA or Boxing, teach your style(s) after a pro career is over.

b) Become an Olympian, teach your style(s) after a pro career is over.

c) Go to school for a while, but only work as a full time martial arts instructor in your professional career?

d) Work full time, teach and learn martial arts part time?

e) Use martial arts as a backdrop or accessory to your career in Hollywood?

f) Use martial arts as a backdrop or accessory to your career in security and/or law enforcement?

1) Why do some students think that "taking martial arts will guarantee you a win in a street fight? "

2) How much training SHOULD a student have before they hve a chance of wining in a street fight

a) against an untrained person their size?

b) against a violent sociopath?

This is assuming that these questions actually can be answered. We know there are no guarantees in the real world.
