  • What INSTEON module do I need to control my 110V AC unit?

I'm looking for the correct module to plug by AC unit in, to be able to control it with INSTEON software.

The specs sheet on the back side on the AC unit says: Voltage: 115V, Current: 8.6A

My problem is the almost all pages I see that talk about the ApplianceLinc V2, which looks like what I want, mention a maximum of 480W for inductive loads, which I'm pretty sure my AC unit is (because it's motor).

115V x 8.6A = 989W > 480W, so I think it wouldn't be safe to use this module with my AC unit... Right?

    What should I use instead?

  • How do tire pressure monitors work?

I have a Toyota Highlander Hybrid 2008, and it has a tire pressure monitors. I'm wondering how those works exactly. How is the pressure measured, how is it transmitted to the car computer ?

(I'm guessing it works the same way in most (all?) cars make, so I'm posting this in the general category, not in the Toyota category.)
