15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCreationists - which parts of theory of evolution do you not accept?
Proof of evolution:
1. All living things inherit their characteristics from their parents.
2. Sometimes mutation can occur in this process introducing more variety.
3. Only living things that survive and breed can pass on their characteristics.
Only these 3 things are needed for evolution.
Which part do you not accept 1,2 or 3?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy are you so sure of yourself?
Your beliefs are an accident of your personal history and the culture and time you happen to have been born and raised in. How can you be so arrogant as to think the content of your tiny mind can have anything to do with 'the truth'?
You know nothing. You are a speck of dust in an infinite universe of universes.
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoShakespeare's play 'As You Like It' allegorical meanings?
I've seen many productions and read As You Like It many times and it has the feel of allegory. What do you think the allegory is? What does the court stand for? What does the forest of Arden stand for? Shakespeare never makes anything explicit, but what are your feelings?
1 AnswerBooks & Authors1 decade agoWas the big bang the beginning of the universe?
By analogy a stick of wood has an end, but you wouldn't say the end of the stick was the point of it's creation. Imagine a creature experiencing the length of the stick as time: it would but special importance on the end of the stick as the point of it's creation, since from it's frame of reference that's the point where the stick seems to appear from nothing. Does our perception of time colour the way we interpret the meaning of the big bang?
10 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoTime travelling molecules?
If you could travel back in time would the fact that the molecules in your body would exist in two places at once have an impact on the universe. Is the fact that the mass of the universe becomes greater than it was create problems? How much extra mass from the future could the universe handle? If you were to create a recursive loop sending back mass from one place to the same place in time and space would you have infinite mass? Where would the extra mass come from?
2 AnswersPhysics1 decade agoWhere is the center of the solar system?
You'll need to define what you mean by a center, and give it's location or locus relative to a fixed point (say the center of the sun).
5 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoPlaces to go in Ming Hang, Shanghai, China.?
I'm currently staying in the Ming Hang district of Shanghai and would like to find interesting things to do and see without going into the city.
Pubs, clubs, tourist attraction, unusual resaurants, shows, music - anything really.
