JSA interview frequency?
I was made redundant at the beginning of January and made a joint claim for JSA with my husband on 5th January. We have both signed on every 2 weeks since then and have fulfilled everything that has been asked of us. Since the date of my initial claim I have been called to attend interviews at the jobcentre on 15th Feb, 15th March, 12th April and have now received a letter inviting me to yet another interview on 10th May. My husband has only been called to attend one of these interviews in the same time period.
Is it normal to be invited to interviews every 4 weeks? It seems a little excessive to me. I'm certain I didn't have to attend quite so many when i was made redundant last time (5 years ago).
3 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoPoundworld pregnancy test?
I'm 10 dpo and tested this morning with a poundworld test, it came back positive within about a minute. I went out early so left the test taped to a note for my hubby saying that it may explain how icky i've been feeling the last few days. When i got home 6 hours later the second line looks to have totally disappeared, it is very clearly visible on the pic i took on my mobile. Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm gonna test again tomorrow morning using a first response as i'm now not sure whether the cheapie was accurate.
We're trying to be optimistic that this really is it but it's hard to believe it's for real after 6 years of ttc, recurrent miscarriages and secondary infertility
5 AnswersTrying to Conceive1 decade agoDog snarked at me, what's the best way to deal with this?
This evening Oscar snarked at me when i tried to get him off the couch. He's been in kennels for the past 6 days while we visited my inlaws, we collected him this afternoon. After we collected him we took him for a very long walk in the park before we came home. When we got home i fed all the fur family before i started making dinner for us, once our dinner was cooking i came to sit down and found Oscar sitting where i normally sit. This is not normally an issue, he usually gets straight down when told. Today he just looked at me and didn't move. I touched him on his butt and told him to get down again but he still sat there so then i moved my hand to his collar to guide him off. It was then that he turned his head and snapped at my hand, luckily he didn't make contact as i moved quickly but he made his intentions pretty clear.
I was shocked, he's never done anything like this before and i really don't know how i should deal with this. Part of me thinks i should cut him some slack because he's just come back from the kennels and is probably tired from his walk but then on the other hand i'm thinking that would be the worst thing i could do. Would grounding be the best way to deal with this?
Since it happened he's been on the other couch (for us this is his "place") over on the opposite side of the room. He got up once for a drink and came to lay on the couch at the side of me but i wouldn't let him, sent him straight back to his place again where he's now laying asleep. My thought is that he needs to earn back the privilege of sharing the couch with me and hubby.
I would really appreciate some advice.
Thanks
9 AnswersDogs1 decade agoCan a landlord force a tennant to rehome pets?
My sister has been living in her property for 6 months and has just received a letter from her landlord telling her she has got to reome her cats or they will seek to evict her. She chose this particular property because the letting agent told her that the landlord was happy to allow pets. Although her contract does not say no pets allowed, it also doesn't say they are permitted. I have told her to seek legal advice before she considers finding homes for the cats. Unfortunately, she can't get an appointment for legal advice until next week so in the meantime i would appreciate some advice for her from anyone who has experience of property and letting
8 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoSummons for non payment of council tax?
I just got a summons to court for non payment of council tax. The letter says they are applying for a warrant for commitalto prison. An enquiry will be made into my financial circumstances and will be required to explain why it'snot been paid.
What happens at these hearings?
From what i understand the letter to mean, i will have the opportunity to explain my income and outgoings and that i have not paid simply because i do not have the money.
If this is the case, does this mean i will be ordered to pay a set amount each week/month or does it automatically mean being sent to prison?
Does the court take into account a persons home circumstances? I'm really worried because my husband is out of work and can't claim any benefits. If i get sent to prison i will lose my job which means our rent will not get paid and we will be made homeless.
5 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade agoWhat food to give an underweight dog?
My dog (2 year old lurcher) has just come back from the boarding kennels and he is very very thin. I can see most of his ribs, his spine is very prominent and i can also see his hip bones sticking out. Whenever he has been there before he has always lost quite a lot of weight but not to this extent. His overall health is excellent so i'm not worried about it being a medical issue. I'm also not concerned over the care he received while there as the kennels are use by the rspca when their shelters are full.
What can i add to his normal feeding regime to help him gain back the weight ?
15 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhat makes the nhs think that this is right?
Dh and i have been ttc for 5 years, had 4 miscarriages and 2 years of secondary infertility. I quit smoking nearly 3 years ago in order to improve the chances of getting pg and to reduce the risk of another miscarriage. When i quit smoking i gained a lot of weight like most people do but am slowly losing it with a healthy diet.
We have now been told that my efforts are not good enough, i need to lose weight a lot faster in order to be considered for fertility treatment (i've been told to lose weight at the rate of 4-5lb a week which my gp tells me is dangerous to my health) The worst part about all of this is the fact that if i hadn't quit smoking i would be at the target weight they have set for me and they would happily give us the treatment even though i would be poisoning a baby with cigarettes.
It seems that filling a tiny unborn babies body with poison is preferable than a mother-to-be being overweight.

Any suggestions will be gratefully received.
