  • Need surveillance advice for ongoing car vandalism?

I'm looking to set up video surveillance in my car as it has been keyed twice now. I know who's doing it but obviously my word is not enough if I want to take legal action. Therefore I'm looking to set up surveillance.

It would need to be a camera that I can run while the car is off (as this is obviously taking place when I am not in the car) and it would need to cover multiple directions (front/back views for example). I know you can get dash cameras that run off of your car battery while you're driving but I don't think that would do me much good. I'm moreso looking for something that runs off of it's own battery (would only be running for ~2 hours per day)

Does anyone have suggestions or know a good site for a camera like this?

  • Ticket on my record that isn't mine?

I received a notice in the mail from the local court stating that I owe money for a ticket, and that I cannot renew license/registration or use any DMV services until I have payed the fine. I know I haven't received any tickets in years so I called the court and gave them the case number on the letter they sent me.

The lady I spoke to told me the case number was in reference to a totally different person driving a totally different vehicle (some vehicle registered to an elevator company). I asked her what I should do, as this clearly was not my ticket. She checked my master number and told me there was only one ticket there from 2009 which is the only one I've ever received. That ticket was paid long ago. She simply told me to throw out the letter as it wasn't meant for me.

I went to the DMV to renew my registration and of course - the ticket is still showing on my record. They won't do anything for me until the ticket it paid - but I have no intentions of paying someone else's ticket. A

What can I do here? Do I have to go to the court and have them remove this fine? Confused and a little annoyed at this whole ordeal.

    Help is appreciated, thanks

  • Sore throat on one side only?

So I've had a sore throat for a couple days now, but it's just one on side of my throat. Now when I turn my head to the right I can feel pain right at the back of my jaw - just below my ear almost. When I turn my head I feel a slight pain in my throat also - but it only hurts on the one side and it only hurts when I turn my head right.

Any ideas what this could be? Usually when I've had a sore throat it's both sides that are sore. It doesn't feel like I have any swollen lymph nodes and nothing looks visibly swollen.

  • My CD rom won't show up in My Computer?

So radomly my CD drive has decided to quit on me or something.

I checked in device manager under DVD/CD ROM drives and 2 show up - both of which have an exclamation mark by them. So obvious something is wrong. When I click on the properties it says this for both of the drives showing:

"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"

It was working fine a few hours ago, I'm not sure why or how it stopped working in that period of time. Anybody know how I can fix this?

    thanks

  • Small black flies in my kitchen?

So recently I've noticed a lot of these tiny black flies in my kitchen, and they seem to be multiplying quickly. They aren't fruit flies (all of my fruit stays in the fridge) as they are much smaller and are a darker color. Some of them aren't even big enough to fly they just run around on the counter top.

What are these? Why do I have them? What can I do to get rid of them? It's getting kind of gross when you can see like 50 of them sitting around the water faucet.

  • Dealership tire question?

My car is in need of new tires & an alignment. I would like to purchase the tires elsewhere as the price they gave me was fairly steep (as most things are from a dealership). My question is will they put my tires on if I purchased them elsewhere? I still plan on having them do the alignment but could probably save $200 or so by buying the tires somewhere else.

    Thanks

  • Why won't my TV work?

I just bought a new TV but nothing on it is working. I plugged it in and turned the power on and it brought up the gray/whiteish screen, but NOTHING ELSE works. The only button on the remote that does anything is power, it will turn off/on but none of the other buttons do anything at all. The buttons on the tv do nothing at all as well, I press them and nothing happens. I can't access input/menu/volume/channel...nothing. What gives?

I know the remote works because it turns the tv off/on, and even if it didn't the buttons on the tv itself would work but they do nothing as well.

  • PS3 has no sound? help?

I recently hooked my ps3 up to my new tv via hdmi cable. The video works fine but I have no sound at all. I've changed the sound settings on my ps3 to HDMI (have tried both auto and manual) and my TV itself is also set to HDMI. I've also tried using the component cables (red/white) to get sound but that doesn't work either.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? I've literally googled this issue for hours and have tried every 'fix' for the no sound problem and nothing has worked. The ps3, cables, and tv are all brand new so being old/worn isn't the issue.

  • Hooking up PS3 to TV?

So I've recently bought a new PS3 and a new TV, but I seem to be having trouble getting the ps3 to work on the new tv. On my old TV I would just plug in the audio/video cables (red/white/yellow) press TV/AV and it all was well.

The new TV doesn't have a spot for the yellow cable, does that matter? There's only a spot to plug in the red/white cables. When I have everything hooked up nothing is happening I just have a blank screen.

    Any ideas?

  • Question about RAM for computer?

I ran the crucial memory scanner and it came up with this:

    Memory Type: DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 PC3-12800, DDR3 PC3-8500, DDR3 (non-ECC)

    Maximum Memory: 4GB

    Currently Installed Memory: 4GB

    Total Memory Slots: 2

    Available Memory Slots: 0

When they say max memory 4gb do they mean I can't have any more than 4? IE I can't swap out the 2x2gb for 2x4gb etc?

    thanks

  • What type of gas should I use in my car?

I recently bought a 2011 Mazda 3 and am curious if I'm able to use regular (87 octane) fuel or if it needs to be 87 or 91 instead? Would it be harmful to use a lower octane gas or does it matter? How would I find out?

    Thanks

  • Can someone explain this please?

Please bear with me while I explain my situation..10 pts for best answer. (this is my first purchase from a dealer, if you can't tell)

I recently purchased a new (brand new, never registered before) car from a Mazda dealership, and am curious about how/what I need to do to have the thing registered under my name.

I was not given a temp paper tag from the dealership (those ones you stick on the window), I used my own license plate from a previous vehicle that I will no longer be using because I will be using my new car instead of the one the plate was previously on(the dealer is aware of this, they even put the plate on the car for me).

The way I understood it the dealer was going to take care of all paperwork as far as getting the title and registration done up for me, as well as my plate transferred to the new vehicle. I believe the title will have the lenders (bank) info on it, but I still need a registration in my name proving that the vehicle is indeed registered and belonging to myself.

Will my dealer or the DMV mail me this info?

How long does it usually take?

In the mean time, what am I supposed to do if I'm pulled over for some reason and the cop asks for my registration? I have nothing to prove the car is mine other than the bill of sale and my insurance card for the car. I'm sure if he ran my plate it would still come up as belonging to my old car, so what am I supposed to do while I'm waiting for my registration/plates to be switched?

Was there something my dealer should have given me? I am very confused and feel like I'm driving the car illegally. Help is appreciated! This is in Canada.
