Why is it that people who want to tell you about their religion, don't want to hear about yours?
Perhaps we should consider that question before accosting and proselytizing others to convert.
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWho's followers were more loyal?
Jesus – All his disciples ratted him out, denied they ever knew him, or forgot to write about the miracles of his stolen, or misplaced, I mean resurrected body. Then they take a couple hundred years to finally remember and start writing it in books. Which differ greatly in reporting of critical events.
Or the Branch Davidians who shot it out against the United States government, resulting in eight two of the church's members, including head figure David Koresh. being burned.
Seems like christianity is sort of like Microsoft. Not a great product, but it’s been around so long people accept the marketing hype.
I don’t think jesus could rouse up much of an army it he did return to earth to exact justice on all us Christ killing heathens.
There jesus, I just kicked sand in your face again. If he's so bad, he'll make sure this is the last post I ever make on Y/A.
So the second part of the question is:
1.will I have a stroke tonight or die?
2. Will I post another question?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat would discovery of simple life forms on Mars do to your beliefs?
There is water ice on Mars, and clear evidence of surface flowing water coming from underground aquifers. We have proven existence of dozens of planets rotating around other starts. Earth is not unique.
It’s only a matter of time before we find life on other planets, why would god scatter his seeds and tell us we were SPECIAL?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoPascal went down to Georgia he was looking for a soul to steal?
OK, now I've got your attention, here is my wager for theists. Go take your holy book and start at page one, read it from cover to cover and at the end of each chapter or verse, ask yourself the following questions.
1. If I were in god's place, how would I have acted differently?
2. Would a loving god do this?
3. Do these descriptions of earth agree with what we now know about the universe?
4. Are these the writings of an educated person or persons by any modern standard?
5. Is there a plausible motive for a group of mortals to write these stories to gain power over others?
If all theists diligently went through this exercise, who would agree there would be less killing over religion in the world?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHunting chimps may change view of human evolution?
Well, this creation thing just seems to get more curious all the time. Wonder why god created them to evolve that way?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSerious question for Muslims and Mormons only.?
Currently I’m an agnostic with a very high sex drive, and keeping 5 or 6 women on a string is very difficult (They want you to stay over on Saturday night but I have two more dates to get to, sometimes three)
So, I would like more information on your martyr program. How sure are you about the 72 virgins? Technically after I deflower one, and they aren’t a virgin anymore, does that mean she’s removed from the virgin pool and I’m down to 71? Finally, do I get to pick some blonds and redheads in the mix?
Also, I guess while I’m at it, what are the qualifications on the Fundamental Church of Latter Day Saints plural marriage thing. When one of your wives get’s old and ugly, can you like send them to a home? Do you have to be Warren Jeffs to have 80 wives? Finally, what if some of them suck at cooking? What do you do with them? And what’s the best way to run your male offspring so they don’t start poking their half sisters?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChimpanzees may have had their own Stone Age: study?
Here is a scientific article that just appeared on Yahoo news. Any christians wish to knash their teeth and provide some doubletalk to put this idea down. And of course you are welcome to wish me an eternity in hell.

I'm going to get another bottle of sacraficail wine while I ponder the answers.
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhen did you decide to leave the cult?
Whatever you want to call it, for those who went to services, Christian, Muslim, catholic, Jewish, Protestant, Mormon. Whatever?
What did they say or do that finally was so over the top that you said the hell with this. I'm going to take responsibility for myself and good riddance to your stained glass window and Bronze Age superstitions.
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDoes Jerry Falwell communicate with god directly like George Bush?
I see Jer is in the news again today. When Jerry said that:
"only terrorists were to blame but he believed attempts to secularize America had prompted God to lift the veil of protection" that had shielded the United States from attacks in the past."
What is the most likely psychological explanation for such thought processes? Is it drugs?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat happened to so many avatars?
Jim Darwin changed? Laptop Jesus? So many avatars seem to have died. Did someone find them offensive? Was it a forgiving christian that caused the avatars to chage? Will the old avatars someday be resurrected? Is the hope for the return of creative avatars a strong enough foundation to start a religious movement? If so, when will you start sending me money?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy can't christians share the road with other cars, drivers, or even pedestrians?
Have you seen them drive? Seems like every day a fish car cuts someone off, fails to yield the right of way, runs over someone (See Bishop Thomas deadly hit and run Tempe, Arizona etc.)
They seem to think all the other drivers aren't good enough to share the road with. It's a blood bath on the city streets.
Or are they just trying to get to see their lord sooner and don't care who they take with them?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoGroundhog day a very important day?
I came back to the message board and saw the exact same questions I saw yesterday, which was ALSO Groundhog day. Everything seems to be repeating exactly as it did yesterday. Is this a sign?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat’s a stepfather to do?
One day we can’t find my young stepson, (who is always bringing up the fact that he was immaculately conceived). So, we looked everywhere and finally find him in the synagogue, lecturing to a group of rabbi (and in a very condescending tone I might add).
So I asked him why he hadn’t told us where he was going, and the punk says: “You should have known that I would be about my father’s business”.
So, what to do with a kid like that? Is his big mouth and attitude going to lead him to trouble with the authorities, I wonder?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSuppose you are so sure in your religion that you fail use critical thinking skills to exercise your brain?
Anyway, you get Alzheimer’s disease and end up in front of St. Peter years later, and forget that the password to open the perly gats is "jesus saves", does that mean you have to go stay in the hot basement with the rest of us?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow many innocent women were burned at the stake by Puritans in 1600’s Salem MA?
Second part of question, how can Christians be so angry at the Jewish religion for crucifixion, since God planned to have Jesus killed all along?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat is the difference between these two forced submissions?
If a big powerful person made someone submit to an act, (let’s say nonconsensual sex), we call it rape.
If a big powerful person says, love me, my ghost, and my flesh, or I will torture you for eternity in a place called hell.
Do you call it Christian conversion?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWould this be good news or bad news for christians?
The son of god has returned to earth, and is broadcasting live on FOX news from the new Branch Davidian’s Headquarters in Waco Texas
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCan any religious scholar justify this?
Hypothetically, if you had a dog and it was so smart that it could literally understand everything you said. One day you dog gives birth to one puppy. You say to your loyal animal “Dog, take your puppy in your mouth by the scruff of the neck and throw it upon the fire because the final squeal of a dying puppy is pleasant to my ears and the smell of a burning puppy is pleasant to my nose."
Your dog with big tears in it’s eyes takes it’s lone puppy and heads for the fire. At the last possible second you say “Wait dog, take instead the neighbor’s cat who has used my yard as a litter box instead and throw it upon the fire”
Now my question is this, even though the look of terror on the cat’s face is priceless, don’t you think playing such a trick on your dog is kind of sick?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWill the hate of religious sects cause the destruction of the earth, and how soon?
With all the bickering between religious extremists, their open wars and hostility towards one another, compounded by the race for religious nuclear weapons, and nation leaders willing to destroy their neighbors, how long before religious zealots have purchased us all a front row ticket to Armageddon? In a modern world, would we not be better off without a judgmental deity that tends to dehumanize non-believers of any other ideal?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIn the book of Job, is god guilty of conspiracy and racketeering?
From the perspective of god having a duty to be ethical and practice good faith and fair dealing, how can anyone justify god making essentially a wager with the devil and was then a willing accomplice of satin and criminally liable for the following activities
Count 1: Wrongful Death – god did willingly conspire with and had knowledge of attacks planned by Satan that he reasonably knew would cause the death of Job’s children (7 sons and 3 daughters)
Count 2: Conspiracy to commit murder – Wherein the Sabeans attacked and put the servants to the sword,
Count 3: Conspiracy to commit theft racketeering – Wherein god allowed Satan and Sabens to steal from Job seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys.
Count 4: Criminal endangerment through use of a biological toxin, wherein Job was infected with sores.
All acts were carried out for the sole benefit, and resulted from a wager between co-conspirators god and satan.
