I am looking for the perfect name for a character in a story I'm writing. She is a beautiful young woman born and raised in the humble farming sect of the small but prosperous kingdom of Ashryle. However, as tensions deepen across the region between neighboring kingdoms, she is forced to join ranks with the men of her kingdom and fight. Guided by her mentor, Arioch, a severely crippled young man who was once one of the strongest warriors in the region, she must learn to find the strength within her to become the warrior of peace that she is meant to be.

Ok so that's the rough gist of the story I plan to write. The main character, the girl, is strong with the heart of a warrior, and poise of nobility. Arioch sees her potential and realizes she is one who could bring not only their kingdom, but the entire region back to peace. It is a story of self-discovery, power, treachery, and the deep love that developes between Arioch and the girl.

So, I need a name that can live up to the character. Preferably it should compliment the name Arioch and if it meant hope that'd be cool, but it doesn't have to. It can be a "real" name or fantasy, nothing to crazy though. thanks for lending me your creative genius!

How do I solve these algebra problems?

I know that they're simple, but I missed a few days in class & have not had a chance to talk to my teacher or get the notes from a classmate. I'll be up front: yes, these problems are part of my homework, but I'd REALLY appreciate some help, even if its just a step-by-step "how to", or even a hint as to how to get started. Thank-you!

I'm really just confused - I tried doing internet research on this, but I didn't get much information regarding this specific question. Were the Democratic-Republicans similar to Democrats today? or Republicans today? And were the Federalists then most similar to Democrats or Republicans? Again, I tried doing research, but my results were inconclusive - basically, all I found out was that both parties shared liberal and conservative attributes, and that they both referred to themselves as being Democrats or Republicans, which obviously didn't help me much. So anyway... thanks so much! =)

i'm really just curious. It would be cool if you could give me exact measurements, but if you can only give a comparison in size, thats fine too. Thanks =)

Okay, here's what I know about this song... I've only heard it a few times, but I'm pretty sure its a big hit that I have no idea about (yes, i live under a rock. Its very nice here.) =P only kidding, but still I feel like I should know this song.

Its older rock, probably around the time of the rolling stones or whatever. Its kind of a ballad - in the beginning it talks about a girl & her troubles & then talks about how she just gives in (or something)... and then the hook or whatever you want to call it is this mournful, jazzy sounding saxaphone ~ its a little haunting. Then the next lines are about a guy & his troubles and how he just gives in (or something lol) & then that stupid, genius saxaphone that sounds like it has no place in the song but somehow fits perfectly. The only phrase I can remember hearing is... "like a rolling stone", which was said just before the jazzy part (btw, its not Like a Rolling Stone by Bob Dylan ~ tried that & failed). Soo... if you know what song this is, after my incredible rambling, would you kindly let me in on it?? I can't get it out of my head!!!

okay, semi formal is in 2 days, & i don't know how to do my make up!!! i'm wearing a black halter dress w/ silver sequins. should i go w/ heavy make-up? i don't want to look trashy... or bad, lol. i don't have a lot of great make-up: just the basics, like black mascara, black & Blue & brown eyeliner, and 2 palates of eyeshadow. i'm also not extremely good at applying make-up either... so... if you have suggestions, could you tell me step by step?? that's be good. also, how should i do my hair? the dress is a bandeau skinny halter top.

My brother, Tom, has this friend, Pete, who's really cute (i've noticed him staring at me sometimes). i've always crushed on him a little bit, but i never really talked to him much because he's a jr. & i'm only a freshman (in highschool). well, we had a firedrill the other day, & as everyone was walking in, i ran into my brother's other friend, Taylor, & Pete, who was walking with him. Taylor was like, "Hey, It's Tom's sister!" like he always does (it's kind of our joke). Pete's mouth dropped and he stopped and turned to me. he was like, "You're Tom's sister?!!" and i was like, yeah, so? it almost seemed as if Pete had been wondering who i was, and it had finally clicked. ever since then, every time we see each other, he's like, "Hey, It's Tom's sister!" and his eyes kind of twinkle and he smiles and blushes a lot too. do you think it's possible he likes me? or is it a freshman's wishful thinking? lol idk. any input would be great, thnx.

Okay this will be long, but just bear w/ me =/.

well, my friend "K", has been really sick of late. she's extremely pale and "gets sick" really easily. randomly, she gets the shakes, so bad she can't stop (it looks like she has Parkinson's disease) . her parents are EXTREMELY controlling and they control her w/ mindgames and sh!t like that. the wierd sickness has been going on for the past 6 months or so, and, ever since it started, i've been suspecting that "K" may have faking the sickness to get attention from her lacking-to-show-love-normally parents. i never thought anything of it; she has heart problems & stuff & i thought her apparent sickness might be contributed to that. the shakes & stuff stop immediately though when she takes an asprin. i sound really stupid that i didn't catch this before, but im beginning to think K may be suffering from depression (from her parents) & that she takes ibuprofen regularly. i think to get asprin she fakes the shakes so she can "feel better". does this theory sound possible, or am i loony?? i Do NOT want to hurt my friend; therefore i want to do the right thing. i told my mom, but my mom doesn't want to get involved because she's afraid of making it worse. i am too, but i need to help my friend! she could die... omg that would be horrible. i feel that i should talk to her about it, but i don't want to be confrontational. i can't go to her parents; she already hates them enough it would just make it worse. (she really does love them, but she hates them too. its weird) please, someone give me some sound advice. what can i do to help "K"? How can i confront her without making her angry? i'm so afraid that if i tip the pot to see what's inside, so to speak, i'll dump it all over. i really don't want to loose my friendship, but i don't want to loose my friend either. she's only 13. please help me...

I feel highly offended. I did nothing wrong. My friends and i were having an argument about our eyes, so i uploaded pictures of our eyes and asked people whose eyes were prettiest. there was nothing wrong with the content of the message or the pictures: they were just of eyes for pete's sakes!!! but, still, i got a email from yahoo manager people (or whoever they are) saying they removed my question because of offensive content that violated the Terms of Service. What is so offensive about several pictures that have been cropped so you can only see eyes?!!!
