Mahabharata, 5:1517 Folks who try to e-mail me, the Yamster, for some reason, doesn't let me get e-mails. I've tried asking about it in the yahoo section. I've tried different accounts. But nada. On the one hand, I don't get interesting further questions or comments, and I don't get requests to become a contact. But on the other hand, I don't get hate e-mail or violation notices. Anyway, if I don't respond to an e-mail, I'm not being rude. I just didn't get it.

5 AnswersQuotations10 years agoNon-biblical literalist Christan and Jews, symbolism of the burning bush? What's the idea?
God can speak to people directly, like Adam or Abraham. Or he can speak from within a whirlwind. He can use a giant fish, a vine plant and a worm, to get his message across (al a Johah), so why, in exodus, did he use a burning bush to communicate with Moses. This this is a Story (NOT history) for national freedom versus slavery by race or birth, rather than a story of individual slavery to the temptations of the world versus redemption of the spirit, what does the burning bush symbolize?

....He goes over to her, and is delighted to find that barely even needs to buy her a drink before she wants to go back to her place. In the car, she asks him if he's into anything kinky. What do you have in mind, he says, practically salivating with anticipation. Well, says the sexy forty-five year old, have you had a mother/daughter three way? And he practically looses it right then a there. But somehow he manages to navigate the car to her house. And as they enter, she yells up the stairs, "MA! Put in your good teeth, I've brought home a surprise for you."
5 AnswersJokes & Riddles10 years agoTo all my Jewish contacts, now that the sun's gone down?
except here on the west coast, what did you break your fast with? I my family, our traditions were for such horrible dishes, that the only reason I could eat them was because I'd fasting all day. Sturgeon with beet and horseraddish as a condiment, geffilte fish, the Philly scrapple of seafood. For the longest time I thought meal was still part of the atonement.
BQ As most of you know, I don't really practice Judaism, but just go to family and to five a certain nod of respect to the religion I was raised. But the one thing that did move me was hearing the Shofar. It would make my arm hair stand up. How does the shofar effect you?
Anyway, I hope your day of atonement was one of fruitful contemplations about what marks you missed during the last year, and meaningful meditations on how you can try to do better in future.

His four year old brother, who wants to do everything his older brother does, said that, he, too, wanted to be just a beaver for this halloween. My sister is determined to find the four year old a beaver costume, and have him wear a sign around his neck (with Justin Bieber's picture on it) stating that he is "Just a Beaver." 3 AnswersWords & Wordplay10 years agoAgain and again and again on this forum...?
Christians site the "anthropic" principle as evidence for their God. Again and again and again I ask, why does supposed evidence for an uncaused cause, a prime mover, an intelligent designer, provide evidence for the Christian God? Some sort of prime mover, who caused creation and designed our universe could easily be Brahman of the Hindus or Allah of the Muslims. Merely saying there must have been a creator does nothing to prove Christianity, yet so many people on here act as is the two are connected. Why is that?

September 19th is talk like a pirate day. Anyone have good pirate stories to share?
Seems there was a treasure ship on its way back to port. About
halfway there, it was approached by a pirate, skull and crossbones waving
in the breeze!
"Captain, captain, what do we do?" asked the first mate.
"First mate," said the captain, "go to my cabin, open my sea
chest, and bring me my red shirt." The first mate did so.
Wearing his bright red shirt, the captain exhorted his crew to
fight. So inspiring was he, in fact, that the pirate ship was repelled
without casualties.
A few days later, the ship was again approached, this time by two
pirate sloops!
"Captain, captain, what should we do?"
"First mate, bring me my red shirt!"
The crew, emboldened by their fearless captain, fought heroically, and
managed to defeat both boarding parties, though they took many
casualties. That night, the survivors had a great celebration. The
first mate asked the captain the secret of his bright red shirt.
"It's simple, first mate. If I am wounded, the blood does not
show, and the crew continues to fight without fear."
A week passed, and they were nearing their home port, when
suddenly the lookout cried that ten ships of the enemy's armada were
approaching!
"Captain, captain, we're in terrible trouble, what do we do?"
The first mate looked expectantly at the miracle worker.
Pale with fear, the captain commanded, "First mate.... bring me my
brown pants!"

10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoThere are new discoveries of sub atomic behavior particles which have direct bearin on religions.?
A questions about these new particles was just deleted for no reason. And yet these discoveries have profound impacts on society in general and religion in particular.
The Bozoarians.
We need to find a way to prevent air pollution from increasing the hole in the bozone layer of the upper atmosphere. Ambient stupon radiation is reaching us in higher and higher levels as the bozone layer thins. This insidious sub-atomic behavior particle, the stupon, is wreaking havoc. Encountering a field of stupon radiation may make smart people act stupid occasionally, but some humans are stupon emitters. If two or more stupon emitters are in proximity (like on freeways or at political rallies), the colliding stupon particles form a dangerous isotope known as the moron.
Sadly, as more and more morons are produced, they increase the atmospheric disturbances that threaten the protective layer of the sky known as the bozone layer, accelerating the cycle. If something isn't done soon, all of us turning into clowns will be the least of our worries.
