My homepage is suddenly in Spanish?
1 AnswerOther - Yahoo Products4 years agoStating yesterday Yahoo opens in Spanish.?
There is no longer a button to push to switch to English. The change location and preferences links ( Sharon) are "disabled while under development".
twenty years and I am ready to go to MSN. What have you done Yahoo? No matter where a ISP is coming from, the user should have the ability to choose what language they see Yahoo in.
1 AnswerOther - Yahoo Products4 years agohow do you report questions?
you can flag and report answers, but questions? There's a sick puppy loose in one of the travel catagories.....
4 AnswersYahoo Answers4 years agoDownshifting an auto transmission for hills?
f you drive a standard, you downshift for hills. Why don't people also downshift auto transmissions? Almost everyone I know just leaves it in "D" and rides the brakes down. Is there some harm to an auto going downhill at a higher RPM but a slower speed?

We're trying to find parking meters for a shopping center without having to pay north of $400 each for new. Any specific suggestions? Don't say "look for cities junking them..."
1 AnswerCar Audio7 years agoFirefox really Foxed?
I accidentally shut down my computer ( Windows XP, thank you vey much ) while Firefox was re-seting itself. It now wont open at all; even removing it from my computer and downloading it again....three times so far.... all I get is the error message " Your Firefox profile can not be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."
I miss my Firefox. Any suggestions?

the actual football, folks........NCAA has the white stripe on half, the NFL does not.
Why?
2 AnswersFootball (American)7 years agoCentipedes the size of Boa Constrictors?
Now that I have your attention......down here in the tropics, we have a recent infestation of centipedes in the house....big suckas, 6-10 inches long, as thick as my finger and they HURT when they sting you.
Aside from the obvious chemical weapons,( and a 22 oz Eastwing framing hammer) what will kill these things? Boric Acid? Diatinaetious ( sp?) earth?
1 AnswerOther - Home & Garden8 years agoHow do I get rid of this poorly thought out new "Answers"?
and get the old, tried and true, wildly successful format back?
1 AnswerYahoo Answers8 years agoAnswer Hamster: What silliness has possessed you?
What was wrong with the old Yahoo Answers? This new format today is just terrible.....it gives only 1/3rd the screen to the actual answers and clutters up the rest with extraneous garbage.
I also dont see anywhere to post links and follow up information.
I also suspect that the "Top Contributor" award has gone away...
I am too disturbed to write more right now,....but I will later!
Meanwhile junk this pitiful attempt of people in marketing and design to justify themselves.......
50,000 points, 2600 plus Best Answers and 7 plus years......I am appalled.......
3 AnswersYahoo Answers8 years agoWho do we contact to protest 'sponsored answers'?
Yes, Answer Hamster, what the heck is going on here? It is appalling.......
and also kinda useless. Monstrously foolish expense on the part of people paying for linkage to questions.....I click on questions to answer them not to buy a product that may have to do with an answer to a question....
I can only hope this is quickly recognized as an abysmal failure........meanwhile where do I lodge a complaint? 10 years and almost 50,000 points and I am not amused.......
2 AnswersYahoo Answers8 years agoWhat is this "Trending Questions" garbage?
that just showed up and how do I get rid of it?
1 AnswerYahoo Answers8 years agoMost depressing question of the year?
could have asked this in Polls and Surveys, but I wanted history centric answers;; So, if you're like me, there are some questions of here....actually many questions on here, that qualify for a Picard faceplam and leaving you wondering about education today.
So, the floor is now open: what is your most depressingly ignorant question asked in 2012?
Anything about the Illuminant or the Mayan calender is disqualified; they get their own question/category...as well as the blatantly " here-do-my-homwork-cut-and- paste-while-I'm-on-Facebook".
2 AnswersHistory8 years agoMayan Calender Nonsense?
Are you tired of all this silliness ? I know Armageddon sick of it.......
7 AnswersHistory9 years agoTime to Boycott China?
With the 2011 carbon emissions numbers in, we find that China is not only the biggest carbon emitter, but increasing at an unbelievable 10% per year:
The 2011 figures for the biggest polluters:
1. China, up 10 percent to 10 billion tons.
2. United States, down 2 percent to 5.9 billion tons
3. India, up 7 percent to 2.5 billion tons.
4. Russia, up 3 percent to 1.8 billion tons.
5. Japan, up 0.4 percent to 1.3 billion tons.
6. Germany, down 4 percent to 0.8 billion tons.
7. Iran, up 2 percent to 0.7 billion tons.
8. South Korea, up 4 percent to 0.6 billion tons.
9. Canada, up 2 percent to 0.6 billion tons.
10. South Africa, up 2 percent to 0.6 billion tons.
Given the warmist position that CO2 emissions are a clear and present danger to life everywhere, when will we see a worldwide backlash against the Chinese polluting our future?
Or do they get a pass because they are formerly downtrodden Third Worlders, and only the 1st World has to alter their lifestyle to Save The Planet?
Seriously: If CO2 is such a danger, when do the picket lines at the Chinese Embassy and Wal-Mart start?

4 AnswersAstronomy & Space9 years agoRestrictions on Campaign Contributions?
I understand the newer laws to keep track of who is giving money to whom; and the whole concept of influence peddling...and also all the new restrictions on companies in banking and finance...
However....a friend of mine who works for an SEC regulated company was telling me that they not only have to report proposed campaign contributions to an in house monitor, but have to get them approved.
Approved? I am appalled. Someone at Dewey Cheatum and Howe can tell me I can't contribute money to Obama.or Romney....or Honk the Wonder Goose?
Can that possibly be right? Can someone cite chapter and verse?
3 AnswersElections9 years agoHow much ethanol from a ton of sugarcane?
What would be a good average, rule of thumb expectancy ....in gallons, if you can......from a ton of sugarcane. I know Brazil is big in this but can't seem to find this ratio.

1 AnswerAlternative Fuel Vehicles9 years agoChina is Number One!?
in a story in today's yahoo news ( http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100720/ap_on_hi_te/as... ) we see China has moved ahead of the USA in total energy use, and within the story the line:
"Sensitive to its status as the world's biggest polluter, China has long pointed fingers at developed nations in climate change talks and resists any label that could increase international pressure for it to take a larger role in curbing greenhouse gas emissions."
Given that China has little or no environmental and pollution standards, isn't it time those who fear AGW is destroying the planet to call for a boycott of Chinese goods?
8 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoWatching the Shuttle launch?
We're planning on traveling to the Orlando area in May for the shuttle launch....I've been promising myself to see a launch live since watching Alan Sheppard on a B&W TV, and there aren't too many launches left!
Going on the assumption that traveling by private car to KSC on a launch day is madness and chaos, I'd like to ask people's experiences with services doing trips to Kennedy to see a launch, " the closet public access" and all that..there are dozens of tour operators on line offering this service.....who's the best? What is "closest public access"? Your experiences?
