Why would a 1998 Dodge Dakota 318 4x4 break 2 transmission cases in one month?
First time was right after we bought truck, trans slipped and then quit. We turned on 4wd figuring front drive shafts could limp us the .5 mile home but instead the trans housing exploded. We said ok maybe the shaft jammed or whatever so we put a new trans is and no 4wd shaft so it is essentially a 2wd at this point. Runs and drives great for about a month and then with no warning from a stop sign it does it again. Any ideas?
