Lens input for DOF calculations?
I am using DOF Master as well as Depth of Field Tools on my smartphone. So if I'm using a 50mm lens, should I input 50mm or 75mm? Do I input the focal length of the lens as-is or do I use the 1.5x rule for DX cameras (like for a D90).
4 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoNikon PB-5 bellows directions/magnification tables?
I am looking for a .pdf of the Nikon directions on a PB-5 bellows unit. Specifically, I would like to see the magnification tables based on the lens and the distance utilized between the lens and the camera body. If someone knows/has this .pdf, you get a quick 10 points!
2 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoDisney Dollars in non-US parks?
Several questions here.
Do other Disney parks (Tokyo, Paris, etc) have Disney Dollars (or Yen or Euros)?
Can they be purchased at all from the USA? If so, how does one purchase them in the USA?
Can Disney Dollars be used overseas and converted at the then current exchange rate (or other method)?
Is Disneyland planning on eliminating Disney Dollars in the near future?
1 AnswerAmusement Parks1 decade agoHow to pack an ALICE LG and MOLLE II Pack?
I've just bought a surplus ALICE pack (lg) & a MOLLE II pack with sustainment pouches and some other stuff. How do our soldiers pack these packs and with what? I realize I won't/don't have the ordnance they would carry, but a website URL or other information on what goes in where would be helpful, just for curiosity's sake.
My ALICE pack is the large type, with the three large and three small outer pockets. I also have the waterproof rubber sacks to go with it. What usually got stored in them and where were they placed?
My MOLLE II has the two sustainment sacks (already with two MREs each), an internal radio pouch, two 1Q canteens on each side of the hip belt, two 3-mag sacks, one SAW 200rd bag and a smaller cinch-style sack similar to the sleeping bag sack, but only 1/4 as big. No info on that one, but if you have any info on it, I'd appreciate it!
Any former military people with helpful hints on how to use these packs for hiking/camping/emergency bug-out use would also be helpful.
2 AnswersPacking & Preparation1 decade agoThe adjective when someone is being boastful about the biggest, best or largest... "super-" what?
I can't think of the adjective that describes when someone is being boastful about the greatness of something. It starts with "super-" but I can't for the life of me remember the whole word!
4 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoD90 "fEE" display in control panel?
I just got a second hand Nikkor AF 50mm f/1.8. I mounted it on both my D90 and D70, and the auto focus won't work and the control panel displays "fEE" where the f-stop should display.
What am I doing wrong or is the lens not compatible with a Nikon DLSR?
5 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoNikon SB800 vs SB600 flashes in a system config.?
I have an SB800, but I don't know if I should invest in two more or go with two SB600's instead to save costs. How well does the SB600 compare, feature wise with a D90, against the SB800? Nikon uses are asked to give their opinions based on usage of the two flashes various shoots, conditions and interoperability.
Thanks!
3 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoOktoberfest activities for tonight?
I am going to help my university with some ideas for Oktoberfest activities. I have the usual beer mug holding contest and pretzel eating, but what other things could I have people do? I CAN'T have a beer chugging contest (liability insurance issues) and have to leave in 4 hours, so any good ideas are helpful.
2 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits1 decade agoDell Studio 1737 and external monitor?
I have connected an LG LCD TV using the HDMI cable to my laptop. Now I want to be able to close the laptop lid completely without the computer going to sleep so I can tuck it under my desk and use an external mouse/keyboard.
Where do I find/change the settings to do this? Right now I have to keep the lid open and use the laptop's keyboard (very frustrating).
2 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoCan I use a Nikon SB-29s ring flash on a D90?
Up to what diameter lens can be used with this SB-29s if it can be used? 62mm? 67mm? 72mm?
Just curious as I am in the market to buy a ring flash for macro and some close distance portrait work. If not, what (cost effective) ring-type flash would you recommend that is not hundreds of dollars!
2 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoFake Blood for photo shoot?
I am planning on doing a goth/horror shoot for this coming Halloween. can anyone guide me to either:
a) a good home-made recipe for fake blood, or,
b) know a good vendor of fake blood that doesn't taste like something that actually died and cost an arm and a leg.
Thanks!
3 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoWhere can I get old, 126 cartridges developed in L.A.?
I found some old 126 exposed films. I am willing to risk a few dollars to see if they come out. They are 30 years old and to see if they still have images would be fantastic.
If not in the L.A. area, where then?

2 AnswersOther - Asia Pacific1 decade agoI have a bottle of Chateau du Taillan Bordeaux,1959, Cruse. I was wondering how much it might be worth.
I have had this bottle for over 45 years. I am simply interested in whether or not it is worth selling or, if not, just opening the bottle and trying it out.
