They all seem to call themselves free, but...

Reading questions, comments, posts, congressmen, and other sources, it really does seem like men are being seriously cruel. Little gender jokes are one thing, but this stuff is really out of touch. Do you have women in your lives?

I live in a small town, and the location that comes up for me is a city 200 miles away. Nevertheless, (let's say I live in Smallville USA) I get ads about the housewife from Smallville who the dermatologists HATE (how stupid), and the Smallville man who works out. 1. The ads are incredibly awful and uninviting (I can't imagine anyone actually going clicking on them (but I guess someone does, hmmm). They are also flat out lies! 2. It seems a breach of privacy if Yahoo and other sites are using our zip codes this way.

I also don't get on Google when I get an email there are advertisements that reference the source of the email or something said in the email. What is up with that? I have opted out, but it still bothers me because who knows what that really means.

There has been a lot of discussion about this, but I still don't understand - maybe someone can explain in simple terms.

I haven't used Answers for quite a while, and recently thought I would get back into it. My quick answers - no problem. But four times, I gave long, detailed answers with references - over an hour each. When I submitted it, went to a screen that told me about technical diffculties, my work is gone, and the information I offered is gone. What is up with that?

I just moved to a place with hard water. It leaves what appears to be mineral residue when water sits in a bowl. What is the residue? Is it okay for us to drink it as is?

The photos show various colors. Are the photos enhanced or are the colors a result of gases in the constellation? How does that happen? It is so amazing.

Progressives have been called Nazis, communists, Marxists, on and on. I hear a lot of complaining, name calling, whining, and insults, but I haven't heard any substantive reasons why people are so angry? It seems counter productive, so I would really like to know - what's the problem. How about some non partisan info from you.

If I understand, Wall Street derivatives, insider trading, and ponzi schemes blew the economy, and industry collapsed mines, spilled oil, leaked gas, and killed people. There must be a reason. What am I missing?

If ea committee holds two hearings, aren't we taxpayers paying for that? He says he wants to reduce the deficit, yet wouldn't the tax hike for the wealthy 2% be more productive and immediate? Aside from getting rid of Obama, I don't understand the strategy.

I live in an apt and I have to be respectful of my neighbors. Not to mention I worry about my speakers being blown into the wall. I use the mute button, but then that means I have to stay in front of the tv. I don't buy products that blast me. Reebok just lost me (plus it is an idiotic ad). I'm just trying to figure out if it's the station, Hulu, or the advertitser? I discontinued my cable service because I couldn't stand it (and because I only watched 9 stations), thinking it would be better, but it's worse. Anybody know who to complain to?

Advertisers say a car gets 20 mpg as if that is something new and wonderful - yet it seems to me that cars have often had a much higher mpg. Am I remembering wrong?

My old '71 VW van has gotten 20 mpg. So what's the deal - anybody know?

Is there a branch of the federal judicial system where such a complaint would be filed - that would have the authority to do an investigation? Thanks.
