help me with a sci-fi/thriller movie title?
my memory is spotty. general premise: lots of people go in a a spaceship/spacestation or something but accidentally crash-land back at earth. the conditions are such that these people have mutated into weird albino-y lizard-esque beast people. there's a group sent in to rescue them or find some serum, something.
a couple scenes I remember:
1) the group go into some room in the space station where they meet this black guy who's stayed locked in. everyone's really suspicious, and he ties them up and tells them the surreal background. something involving sun spirits or something.
2)they're so close! and only have a couple members left in their group! in order to reach some button that does something, one of them has to slowly and silently crawl across a bridge thing, under which a hundred futuresnakepeople are sleeping. I think they wake up and some mad **** goeth down.

1 AnswerMovies1 decade agoShow with people support-group-hopping?
This is a long shot, but it's bugging me and I can't remember. I recall a show where one guy goes to a support group like Alcoholics Anonymous or something, and he begins to go to others. He starts hitting up all the support-group sessions for all the weird things -- maybe overeating, widowers, cancer survivors, who knows -- and it's how he spends his evenings. Then suddenly a new girl comes to town, and he finds out she's a support group junkie too. And maybe they date after that or something, I dunno.
Does anybody have any idea what I'm talking about? For all I know, it could just as easily be in a book or a movie too, not just TV.
1 AnswerOther - Television1 decade agoWhat is a good, light-weight audio player for a Mac?
I'm working with an old, crappy iBook (Mac OSX version 10.2.8) with very little memory and a bad processor. Simplicity is my main concern, which is why I don't need iTunes, with all its fancy album art and ipod/iphone plugins and gazillions of RAM.
I haven't had much luck looking for audio players so far, so any suggestion would be appreciated.
1 AnswerMusic & Music Players1 decade agocan someone explain the sense of smell to me?
I've heard that tiny particles align with certain parts of your nose and send signals up to your brain accordingly (and that understanding basically came from the Magic School Bus), but I'm not really sure at all. does some smellologist feel like explaining?
1 AnswerBiology1 decade agowhy should an individual pay so much attention to society and other humans?
If you go about your existence thinking that the only thing you know is that you are and that you have a soul, then why, when you walk around and live, should you think that the universe of humans is more significant or relevant to you than, say, a tree, or a rock?
I've been wondering this. what makes running around with the people so much better than rolling around in the grass? you can have an effect on them and they can have an effect on you, if that's even important in the first place.

22 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agointegration-like area approximation?!?
alright, so I missed class, and I've got a quiz on this tomorrow. I'm in calculus 1, and apparently what it is is looking at an equation in a certain domain, and use the "rectangle approximation method" to "estimate the area between the curve and the x-axis". what? you have to do it from both the left and the right.
so for an example, how about the graph of: y = x^3 + 2
can you tell me what the approximated area is, from both the left and the right? and please explain what you do, I'm lost.
2 AnswersMathematics1 decade agowho's seen that child-hating comcast drug commercial?
there's a kid and his old grandmother in a kitchen. the child offers to help little old granny to get her medicine for her, and she says, "oh what a nice little boy!" the kid then proceeds to steal and pocket her medicine for recreational use, and the omniscient comcast narrator dude comes in and says something along the lines of "kids these days are part of Generation Rx. Don't trust 'em!"
just wondering if anyone's more successful than me in finding a video of this on youtube/etc. I've been looking for it, just because that video angers me to no end, starting by painting a picture of a nice little boy and then revealing that all children are self-advancing liar drug addicts who you the viewer should never trust for one second. yeah. and is that really what adolescents/teens are seen as by our culture?
