I mean, when listing existing damages and requests for repairs, where do you draw the line? My list has 59 items ranging from superficial damage to Health and Safety Violations?

I realize that the UK sword ban was a knee-jerk reaction to a few isolated crimes, but would regulating possession and sales to qualified students/schools/instructors/collectors positively affect the view of our community or damage it? I know here in Chicago there is a long list of MA weapons that we cannot order, but it does not seem to hamper possession anymore than the handgun ban has.

I'm not looking for the constitutional rights argument or legal aspect, but your opinion on keeping wallhangers and sharp things out of the hands of children and people who don't seem to know how to use them properly.

What's up with the karate kid bit in the 'Daniel' video and the single cover? I know the character's name was Daniel but I'm missing something here.

Muku-kitae. I have heard this term used for sword construction but can find no matching term that means anything or is definitive. The definition I have found on http://www.samuraisword.com/glossary/index.htm#m doesn't make much sense. 'Muku-kitae - “ No scale” forging. Using almost pure iron in forging.' BUT http://www.afuresearch.com/glossary1.htm lists the term as 'Muku kitae: 無垢鍛え Made of one kind of steel.' I had thought that was a 'maru kitae' lamination. I know that the famed sword smith Masamune used the "Soshu kitae" seven layer construction method. The kanji 無垢鍛え translate to 'Purity tempering' Maybe my japanese and translation skills are shot but I'm at a loss.

I believe it may have been by Wall of Voodoo, it may have been called some variation of "I Wanna Be the Boss". The 80's are a bit of a blur but I DO remember the line ' I want 26 2 week paid vacations a year" and some stuff about watching Ice Station Zebra in the nude.

Is there an actual dirth of quality, interesting questions? Are we so inundated with UFC nonsense (trunk colours, entry music, who will win - not actual training questions), diamond push-ups, "whats the best MA for me?", how do I imitate cartoon/movie special effect moves and the like that you will try and answer the dumbest questions with a well thought out answer? Do you feel you are wasting your time or do you feel like you might just actually reach ONE person who is reading a stupid question and find your answer like a blind squirrel stumbling over an acorn? Has it affected your overall opinion of the future of Traditional Martial Arts?

As one of the few followers of the Sword Arts in this space, I freely admit I have little interest in MMA other than as an example of dedication of training and as a general furthering of my own pursuit of knowledge. I do not denigrate ANY student or teacher of any style or school, but look at how the differences can be applied to my own. Is this the true definition of mixed martial arts? Have I rambled on too much, or, Have I given true thinkers a decent question to meditate on?

Reading all the Q&A's about this, I still don't get it. With the health risks, low pay, possible long term damage....WHY? Why do you do it?
